Thanks for the feedback Maru.

Can't say I'm very knowledgable on the video side of things so it took me a while to understand how to even convert into an mp4 of decent quality and size!  But I'm looking into that.

I had accidentally sent some of the scenes of at 720 rather than 1080, so next iteration will be 1080 :-).

Thanks for the advice on the fireflies.  I'm already using denoising, but I'll look into it some more particularly with the highlight clamping.

Hi guys.

Here's a short animation on a Steinway piano (Steinway Louis XV) that I modelled a few years back.  It was one of the most complex models that I've done, so I decided to revisit it, convert it to Corona and make an animation of it.  There are still a few more scenes that I would like to add to it, but I'm fairly happy with it so far!  Hope you like it!  C&C welcome.

I know this topic is old, but I've just had the same problem and found a fix for it should people still have the same issue.

For me, turning off the instancing engine did not work, and to be honest I'd rather not turn it off since the scene I'm working on is huge.  So instead, I added a MaterialByElement modifier on top of the railclone, set the random distribution to a high number and voila, it works!

Adding the modifier does prevent the point cloud display from working though, but that's a small sacrifice since displaying as boxes work just fine.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Maru.  I'll try these once I get a chance!

Sorry to bring back an old thread but was this ever resolved for anyone?  I've been going through every topic I could find about this but this seems to be the same problem I've been having.

So locally, my slave machines can render using textures from my UNC locations.  If I send renders through Backburner to my DR slaves, they can render with textures fine.  However, if I send through DR, I get the same problem as 3DCWalter - the render becomes washed out.  Checking the EXRs from debugging, the renders from the DR slaves are black where there are meant to be textures.  I've also opened up the temporary max file that is generated through DR and rendered using that file.  The render is fine with textures picked up.

I've checked that my Multitexture version is the same on all machines.  I noticed that my 3Ds Max on my local machine is using SP3, but my DR slaves were not, so I updated to SP3 but that still did not fix the problem.

Any ideas??

Nice :-).

The main problem I have is <http://www.3dmacher.com/daten/forum/8.jpg>.  I feel dizzy looking at it.  The verticals need to be straightened.

Forums need a "like" button.  This is amazing!

Thanks for the replies.  I've attached the model with the studio HDRI that I used.    Also attached is a screenshot of the settings.

Yes I did adjust the contrast so maybe that was it.

Just an update/question.  I left this to continue running for a whole day and it went up over 1000 passes, yet there was still a big noise problem.  Can anyone suggest anything?

Is this the raw render Juraj?  Very nice!

Just a quick test.  Wanted to see the quality of glass from Corona and I am happy with it :-).

So here's the raw render and one with some very rushed post.

I left this running overnight - 8 hours - but still getting some noise.. Any suggestions?

change render to VCM

What is the benefit of using VCM?

I use Xrefs quite a lot but they don't seem to be load when rendering with Corona.  Is this a known problem?

Whoops!  Sorry.  Should probably have looked at the settings a bit more clearly! Thank you

Hello,

First of all, just want to say how much I'm enjoying using Corona!

Just wondering whether it would be possible to implement some kind of incremental saving, where you could tell Corona to save the render every nth pass, so that you could leave a render running overnight and know roughly how many passes would make for a good render.

Thanks,

Steven
