Great work! It's really inspirational to beginners like myself to see this sort of work.

Gold looks really nice, do you Complexfresnel or just normal corona MTL?

Hi Saires Art
The gold is complex fresnel, yes.
I made it by a corona layered mtl with 2 layers. One with glossiness 0.4 and the other at 0.8. IOR 9999. Blend by fall off fresnel

Well done I like them !
The carpet instead in the first render is a bit flat I think, the dog on the floor looks like a resident evil puppy between.

I like it too. You have nice combination of warm and cool tones in the images, noticeable in the living room shot.

What brings it down a bit is the floor. It's easy to tell it's flat geometry. Few things that could be improved on it:

-Make a mask of plank gaps. Put it in specular slot so that you dim that part. (Alternatively, look up Dubcat's solution of putting glossiness map through LUT so that rough part are dimmed in reflection).
Right now, you can see the whole floor is specular, and that breaks the illusion of wood surface.

-Break the wood floor with some glossiness variation, maybe even scratch marks.

@Chakib : You are right about the carpet, thank you. but I think the dog is quite cute haha
@Juraj : Thank you for your comments, I definitely try with the floor material .
I have a question about hilight compress. I used to raise it quite high ( 15 ) to preserve details in the hilight area and then bring back the contrast in PS
But then in some case, I set it to 1 and I find that will help the image with richer color though the hilight still burn out a bit.
So how do you set up with that ?

I do save to linear format and apply tonemapping in post, where it can be much more powerfull and flexible. I use Corona's tonemapping only for simple renders, which doesn't require post-work at all.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

Thank you romullus
Could you explain your method a bit more. It seems new to me.
I often use Corona tone mapping, save 16bit TIF image and then post-product in Photoshop

Well, there's nothing fancy at all. I save to exr half float, then load it to Photoshop, perform tonemapping in ArionFX, convert image to 16 bit, then do additional tweaking, like curve adjusting, shadows/highlights treatment, etc. Then lastly convert image to 8 bits and save to png. That's it, usually my post-work is that basic. I don't have much skills at it.

Update with another full shot.
@jural : I improved the wood floor base on what you suggested. I make a plank gaps map in PS then used it to emphasize bump, masking reflection. And then another texture for glossiness effect.
What do you think ?

Thank you guys for your comments and helps.
There are still so many things I want to improve on this project.
So I will update to this thread as soon as I got time.
For now, I decide to take a little break and work on other commercial projects.
And so, please check out my final gallery thread and let me know what do you think.
