Hello
I have a problem with mapping a displacement texture:
As you can see in the image (attachment), the texture currently has an alignment error in the facade rounding at the top left. The way the wood shingles run in the top right of the rounding is correct.
I am using C4D R25 with Corona 8 Hotfix 1 and the model is created in Archicad.

The shingle texture I got from the Corona internal library: Wood Siding Shakes Oak

Thanks for your help!
Katharina

Hi,

Open UV editor and check your UV mapping - most likely that portion of your UVs needs to be rotated by 180° and stitched with the other UV island for texture continuity.

Hi, Thanks for your fast reply. I checked the orientation of the UVW-Mapping on the left upper part, but strangely it still makes troubles. You can see it in the attached file.
What I really don't get is why it works out so nicely on the right facade without changing the UVW-Orientation at all?
And what do you mean in detail "...and stiched with the other UV island for texture continuity"- How can I do that?

Sorry, i can't give you details, since i'm 3ds Max user, but from what i see in your latest screenshot, you are adjusting texture rotation, but the issue is in your UV mapping of the object itself. You need to fix the UVs, otherwise it not gonna work as you want.

Didn't took a good look, but here's quick fix:
Delete sides that give you hard times & clone/array good ones (or just post a file) ;)

I'd also be interested how this looks using a non-Corona material. Is it the same?

I read that there is supposedly a spline UV mapping plugin for C4D that allows you to trace the texture to a spline - this could be a solution, but I can't find this plugin - do you know more about this?

The corners are just not cut cleanly anymore because I'm trying to make the rounding of the shingles run diagonally in Archicad.
To solve my problem I have divided the rounding into single shingle layers. Unfortunately, the UV mapping is oriented incorrectly and currently I had to distort the textures quite a bit to make them work halfway.

I can share the file in the attachment.
