[C4D] I need help! / Re: Compositing with shadows
« on: 2023-12-20, 01:06:39 »

Hi there,
All I'm saying that you can have different approaches to get the desired result, but it won't be a 1-click solution.
If you render out several passes and composite them together in your preferred image editing software, you may get closer to the desired result, all depends on your compositing skills.
Try out the attached PSD file and play around with it, it is a quick and a basic approach to this. Simply turn on the Hue and saturation adjustment layers and use the same color for both.
Of course, this can be perfected; again, it all depends on compositing skills, but you can get all rendering info (layers/passes) from Corona.
I hope this helps.
Cheers everyone!

Hello there,
From my POV, there are no "correct" settings but different approaches to accomplish the desired result.
You can always use a neutral-gray backdrop (infinite background) and combine it with the use of the Corona Shadow Catcher material.
I hope this helps.
If you need further assistance, please elaborate a little bit more on what is your approach to this and what is the expected result (provide as much info and references as possible to understand better the issue).
Kind regards.

Hi there,
I think now I understand what you meant.
Please correct me if I understood this differently...
The PV shows the result like the Beauty in the VFB, right?
This is expected as the Lightmix feature is specific to the Corona VFB.
The PV will only display the result after tweaking the Lightmix pass in the Corona VFB.
If you turn on the "Single-pass" in the PV and select only the Lightmix pass, you should be able to see the same result as in the Corona VFB.
The Lightmix values won't be saved as the PSD layer's opacity values.
If you want to continue fine-tweaking the Lightmix values, I'll suggest saving the image using the CXR file format, then opening the rendered image using the Corona Image Editor (CIE) and continuing from there. Later you can save new versions of your image directly from the CIE.
I hope this helps.
If not, could you please elaborate a little bit more to understand better the issue?
Have an amazing day/evening.
Kind regards.

Hi there,
Thanks for the update.
I think I finally understood the inquiry.
I was a little confused because you mentioned you were using the Interactive Rendering feature (which runs in the VFB), but if I understood correctly, you're using the Interactive Viewport feature instead.
Then, if color management settings are set to default, could you please make sure the viewport is using them?
Please go to the Viewport's menu "Options" and make sure the "Linear Workflow shading" is enabled there.
I hope this helps.
Let me know the outcome.
Cheers.

Hi there,
As mentioned before, this looks like you're using different gamma settings.
Could you please make sure you're using the Linear workflow option and basic color management?
You can find these settings if you press Ctrl + D on your keyboard (use Cmd key if you're using MacOS) as this will open the "Project settings" in the "Attributes" panel (under the "Object manager" panel).
Then, open the Color Management section and double-check if the Linear Workflow is enabled or not (if it's disabled, then enable it)
Additionally, for the color management, set it to use "Basic" instead of "OpenColorIO", and lastly, make sure the "Input color profile" is set to "sRGB"
These are the default settings for C4D.
I hope this helps.
Try again and let us know if the issue persists.
Kind regards.

Hi there,
Could you please try switching to the "Image" mode instead of the "Multi-pass" mode in the "Layer" tab for the C4D's Picture Viewer before exporting/saving the file?
Let me know the outcome.
Have a nice day/evening.

[C4D] I need help! / Re: Include/exclude mode for lights?
« on: 2023-12-13, 17:12:31 »
Hi there,
As @Nejc already mentioned, you can use the feature to include or exclude objects from receiving direct lighting.
You can find additional info regarding the Corona Light at the Docs portal - Corona Light
I hope this helps.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Have an amazing day/evening.

Hi there,
I'm glad it worked.
YW.
Have an amazing day/evening.
Cheers.

Hello there,
Could you please submit a support ticket using the "contact us" link in my signature?
That way, we'll be able to follow up on this, as it may require additional technical assistance.
Cheers.

Hi there, could you please try disabling any firewall/anti-virus software, then run the installer again and complete the installation process?
Please let us know the outcome.
Kind regards.

Hi there @wasfrans
As said before, there's no need to use all of the RAM installed in your computer unless it is necessary.
By necessary, I mean if your scene has a lot of geometry, has a lot of materials applied to objects, textures are very memory-expensive, etc.
And as @Tom said, "If RAM maxes out, then you can run into crashes and slowdowns" or any other unexpected behavior.
It is always best to have your scene project organized and, most importantly, optimized; I mean, using rendering instances, low and high poly objects (depending on the distance from the camera), keeping materials setup as simple as possible, etc.
I hope this helps.

Hi there,
Did you try disabling any Firewall or anti-virus software?
If not, try disabling them, then try again. (a reboot may be required in some cases)
Cheers

[C4D] I need help! / Re: Mutishader on new Tile shader

Hi there @lamfadel,
I've tried reproducing the issue you reported; however, everything seems to be working as expected.
If you're using the UVW mode, then a viewport update will be possible; otherwise, when using the Object or World mode, I'll suggest using the IR.
I hope this helps.
You can find more details about the Tile shader in our documentation portal at Corona Tile Shader - Documentation portal

Hi there,
Have you tried using the IR (Interactive Rendering) instead of only using the viewport?
Cheers.

Hi there @lamfadel,
Could you please provide screenshots of your material setup?
Otherwise, it will be tough to understand your setup.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards.
