Title: Corona Bitmaps Slow File opening times

We recently started using Corona Bitmaps exclusive but have notice a considerable slow down in file opening times.
Even basic scenes seem to take 5-7min and more complex can take up to 20min.
There are no x-refs which I know can slow everything down.

We tried the following:

- Removed Forest Pack
- Removed Rail Clone
- Removed all plugins (except corona)

All the above made very little change. Once we removed the corona plugin it opened in 20sec - 1min.
This obviously removed loading of bitmaps.
We then tried changing all the corona bitmaps back to max standard bitmap loader.
This helped decrease file opening times by 20-30%.
I read on the forum that having the viewport textures setting too high can also cause slow open time so I reduced this. (Corona Bitmap load is not affected by this)

It's not our network as I have tried opening everything off the local drive (NMVe SSD) and still same opening time.

Is anyone else having these issues?
Is there anything we can do to help solve this?

Have you tried opening the scene after archiving it, or after relocating all textures into a single folder?

Would it be possible for you to share an archive of your scene with us?

Have you tried with V7 daily builds? One of the improvements (asynchronous texture loading) should help with this exact issue.

Thanks for replies.
I tried install 7 and it definitely improved the speed of opening the files.
I'm awaiting feedback from Pulze regarding support for Corona 7.
But at least I know that Corona 7 has improve the file opening time.

FYI, I'm using Corona v7 and latest Pulze products versions (SM v2.1, RM v2 beta) and everything is fine so far. Is there any particular thing you fear that might be problematic ?

Hi Nicolas,

I only briefly tested it last week.
Tried installing 7 on one machine and sent job to manager but gave time out error when I started in on just that machine.
Will try a very simple scene tomorrow.

But it's good to know it seems to be supported.
