You do not want ptgui for that kind of stitching :] Manual stitching method in image editor that support layers, is more than enough, IMHO.

It is a map intended to accept vector image formats, like ai or svg. It was introduced in max 2014.

this is not necessary - you can add the map to color (if there is another map, just multiply them).

It wouldn't hurt to have ability to assign map to self illumination multiplier.

Would like to see better support of vector maps in Corona. Right now it's pretty weak.
I tested what works and what not with vector maps in CoronaMtl:

works as:
  diffuse
  reflection color
  refraction color
  opacity
  transucency fraction
  self illumination color
  absorption color
  scattering color

do not work as:
  reflection glossiness
  refraction glossiness
  translucency fraction
  anisotropy
  anisotropy rotation
  fresnel ior
  ior
  bump
  displacement
  rounded corner radius

I also checked how mental ray supports vector maps. It works everywhere except for bump mapping.

Not the cutest one, i have to agree :]

Actually it's very simple - it's just vew "branches" with metamesh animated with growFX wind. Hair is done with max's native H&F.

Just one more question: whenever i look at plugcfg\corona folder, i always find several config files. How to know which one is the latest? Or maybe it's better to delete all of them and let Corona to create brand new one?

on 1 frame it looks not bad using displacement map from corona
but when I render a animation the displacement map just noising bumping arround :(
Did you use procedural textures for displacement by any chance?

You can employ CoronaAo map too. Although it's very sensitive on angle between polygons.
