Congrats

Amazing works with Corona Bertrand; did you use without problem the VRay converter (i think your scenes were made with Chaos engine no ?).
For all my complicated scenes I don't need all the things witch miss you, but I don't have your high level of skill. For example, I think it's very free to work without any VRay Physical Cam; with the real-time post prod settings you can correct and adjust a lot of things; maybe having the vertical correction could be nice...
Anyway there are a lot of things to add, but Corona is very accessible like that for simple artists like me, so it it the way developers will take i don't know. This engine is called to a great future in any case.

To have nice smooth reflections (especially glossy), detailed textures and detailed geometry you can try lowering PTS but do this only if you have lots of time because this won't be optimal time-wise setup. :)
Maru, you mean to have 8 or 4 PTS samples instead of 16 or 20 per example ?

Apart from .jpg compression I can see your image's scale in vfb is 1:2 which means we are looking at it downsampled. Corona's vfb probably handles downsampling (zooming out) different than photoshop. Maybe this is your problem?
Maybe it is Maru. I don't found any else solution since I've posted this morning, so i think it was because I had a big resolution render and because I have reduce the window in my screen...
A question to the developers : is it possible to adjust automatically the FB to the window of the screen ?

Great renders, a bit noisy (but after 2h it's normal no ?). Have you found a way to have less noise on the specular textures ?

It looks like the problem is just by comparing original image to a blurred, lower-quality jpeg. Try to save in a lossless format (PNG) and then compare.
You're right and not keymaster. I'm sure of me but I've not the FB I've done this morning : it was a "night" render (6000pix, to try) and I'm working on other view at the moment. But i repeat, the FB was very grainy with the specular shaders, especially with the concrete I've posted.
Anyway it seems that the problem is resolved : i can't reproduce it now, after having changed the Max ray depht from 25 to 30 and the PTS from 8 to 16 and saved as PNG. Don't know if the problem was from here, have to render again with a big resol...

Hi Maru
Here is and example of the Frame Buffer (left) and the final image (crop, right) opened in Photoshop. I don't know if it is very visible, but in the FB it's always more grainy, and i really don't know exactly when i have to stop my render...
I have a good output gamma, and I only save, in these case, in a JPG format.
I'm now trying to use PT+PT for the exterior renderings.
Thanks for your help :)

For Aurelarchi
Salut Aurélien :)
Yes only PT+HD (but as says Maru, I'm trying PT+PT for exterior...)
All the rest of the settings are default except PT samples (8 or 16 it depends), and MSI (20).
good luck with VRay :)

Hi all
Some other new renders. I've tried so many settings but I'm sure basic ones are the best except for the PT/HD that I've adopted for the interior/exterior renders.
I've noticed that high quality renders in the Corona Frame buffer are very noisy (especially for the specular shaders) and not when you open it in photoshop... is it normal ?
I find the way to work, i don't know why, with the interior scenes much easy than the exterior, and all the renders in the gallery, except a few ones, give me reason.

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Converter crashes
« on: 2013-11-20, 15:46:31 »
Hi
Don't know if this problem has ever been done here, but I still have a problem with the VRay to Corona converter, only but always when I want to convert a group of objects. It crashes and open a crash window in Max (never crashes Max).
Windows send this part of message : replaceInstances obj.material m (lign 1260)
Hope it helps...
Thanks
Roland

I really like your images... I'm new with Corona so I look at all the renders of the gallery and I find your images very real.
Congratulations !
