[Max] Resolved Bugs / Corona Proxy preview animation
« on: 2018-10-12, 14:08:53 »
Hi guys,
I came across this weird behavior with Corona Proxy. I forgot the Auto key on when I was animating some stuff and changed the preview type of Corona proxy. So on one frame it was Wire on another it was Full mesh, for instance. Then when I scrap through the frames, some are fine but on some of them Max crashes. Took me a while to realize where was the problem and I'm not sure if it's a bug. It was more my mistake, but maybe it's worth looking into.

Hi Guys,

I've decided to share this model, we did for Bomma lighting. They already have pretty cool models on their website, be sure to check it out. They're in 3dm usually, but you can convert it easily into whatever you want. Models are precise with quite of lot of a detail. We added some details, distorted the geometry a bit and put materials on it.
It was a first project after Corona 1.7 release which was crucial, because we could use the new dispersion feature. Check the full project on our website or behance to see the details of dispersed light. It really adds a lot, especially in the animation.

Gallery / Europaallee
« on: 2018-05-09, 15:48:47 »
Hi guys,

this is our last personal project inspired by Europaallee in Zürich. We wanted to learn Railclone plugin so we were looking for some modular architecture. We created two buildings inspired by architecture of Max Dudler and David Chipperfield and put it in city environment. Main genius loci of the place is infuenced by its connection to railroad and nearby Zurich Hauptbahnhof which was also perfect for using Railclone.

Check the full resolution pics on behance https://www.behance.net/gallery/60416911/Europaallee-in-Zurich
We shared the Railclone files for free in another thread -- https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=20293.0

Hi guys,

we just finished our personal project Europaallee and I decided to share Railclone files of the buildings we've made. It's a simple setup, but it works for orthogonal buildings pretty well. The modifier stack is not baked, so you can change anything you want or just turn off/on the chamfer for less or more detail (3ds Max 2016 only).

Download it for FREE in BLOG section on our website -- http://www.zanstudio.cz
Check the whole project to see the model in environment --  https://www.behance.net/gallery/60416911/Europaallee-in-Zurich

If anyone has other railclone templates feel free to share it and let's see if we can make this thread bigger in the future:)

[Max] I need help! / Re: Bending light through prism
« on: 2017-10-30, 14:27:14 »
Thanks a lot! I can definitely see some rainbow now, great! I guess with BDPT it's impossible to see any volumetric scattering right? I had to add parallel plane to see the result and the beam also disappers inside the prism :(

[Max] I need help! / Bending light through prism
« on: 2017-10-29, 19:18:28 »
Hi Guys,
I went into this problem when I was trying to simulate disperse light beam into spectre. I thought maybe new Corona 1.7 will solve it, but no luck so far. I wanted to bend a beam of light going through prism. So I created Corona light with maximum directionality 0,99 and Global Volume Mtl. I also add some scattering with high directionality in the glass itself to make the light visible. Is my concept totally wrong? I would expect the beam to bend according on the IOR refr value, but it's just going through.
My goal was to disperse this beam into spectrum, does anyone has any thoughts how to achieve that?

Thanks, Pavel
