Title: shader curvature
Post by: celmar on 2022-07-24, 15:43:24
Hello!! the "curvature" shader is an excellent tool, to simulate the worn edges of a mettalic object... really good!
however, I can't figure out how to use it in the bump, to simulate the small thickness that there would be in reality, on these "worn" areas... thanks for your ideas!

Use it in a layer shader as a mask between "no bump" and "some bump" - and remember the limitations and extras you have to mind when using a procedural noise in bump, they apply for this case as well.

thank you, Cinemike!!
I'm mainly searching hpow to create a bump "along" the curvature-colorizer effect... as it would be in real world, if for example the red paint was used on the edges... On the doc jpoined, it's folllowing the green line, to show what I mean...
