Why region render with the same settings - become cleaner than whole image?

Thank You, Maru) Your examples helps me a lot now!!!!

TY, it was first what I read) Then came here!
It's good but not deep and full enough for me!

So as DeadClown said: Passes are analogue of Vray DMC image samples, and PT samples - VRay material subdivs?
Means Passes response for AA, MBlur, DOF, and PTs - noise!

Ok, so how do it rightly?
set 255 on color and 0.7 on level? ore simply 179 on color?

If it's hard - describe most important things, noise sources and solutions, albedo & maps, light power/type and camera, portals, better settings for exterior, interior, animation; average time for render average scene on average machine etc. Of course greater and better for understanding - with pictures!
As examples (imho):

Sorry, but I understand Nothing)
Can I somewhere read, what settings do what - for better understanding how all it works, to tune needed quality/time ratio, or which are better for different render scenarios?
Maybe someone smart can gather some kind of FAQ or tricks n tips in one place, pls?

I read tons of topics and find some interesting info, but all of it is scattered around here, and as newbie I'm not sure which of them should trust, or can it be useful in my particular case?
Thank You, someone)

But which of the pictures (at the top) are more correct?

But it'll be always biased? (when using IrCache)

...will have irradiance caching in it
It's like IrMap in Vray? So cache could be use the same way in animations(using info from previous renders)?

Post as it is, maybe some gamma settings need to be set, but they become darker!
GammaAndLut 1.8, all render settings are default, only use PT+HD, HD(as recommended PTsamples-512, MaxRecords-300). Plus VRay pic - and another question: why in Corona, reflections become dimmer!

6*CoronaLights - Intensity 1000, Sphere R9mm, and WM screen: Emission 1,6 +Map!
VRayPhysicalCamera+CoronaCameraMod

I need sometime some preview renders)
Tried to search some answer here, but didn't found...

E.g. in VRay i could tune settings and achieve pics aprox the same quality, but slightly blurry and maybe noisy (depends on scene complexity) and it'll take 10-30min/pic 1080p on my 3770K 3,5GHz!
Corona's pics are great, but in 5-15mins still are noisy( i'm new in it but avoid Emission Mats, Huge Displace/Bump, Albedo 1, etc.)!
Maybe there are some settings in Corona to achieve pics in 10-20mins maybe less photographic/supadupa-realistic/amazing/caustic/dof/beauty but no noise? or special tracing method? or settings I didn't noticed? or...not enough beer in me?)

btw. now I use Alpha5 (not daily build).
