[Max] I need help! / Re: Broblem with surface render
« on: 2021-06-10, 16:27:40 »
If the surface has explicit normals, then it might be an issue with shadow terminator fix. Can you try to go to dev/experimental rollout in render setup and set terminator shadow shift to 1.0? See if that helps.

Thanks a lot! Yes, when i was trying to fix it myself, i found this option. But i used smaller numbers like 0.1-0.3
It does fix the problem, but sometimes it creates some bugs in other places that were fine before ))
So yes, it works, but not 100% in my case. I will try again. maybe if i set it to 1.0 it will work.

I`m not an expert in "coding" and stuff but still interesting why vray doesn`t give any artifacts and Corona does in this case. And IF this is a known problem why it wasn`t fixed after so many years of development i wonder.
 Anyway thanks again!

[Max] I need help! / Broblem with surface render
« on: 2021-05-29, 13:11:06 »
Hello!

I have a problem with surface converted from nurbs to mesh. No matter how dense the mesh after converting i get artifacts (like this on the first previews below). I suppose it`s related to point/edges not welded or overlaping at some places. But even after welding this problem remains. And what is more "interesting" here that same surface in Vray does not have any issues (second). It`s smooth. Light here is 1 hdri map only.
Is there any way to solve it?

[Max] Feature Requests / Turn off "Fit resolution to VFB"
« on: 2018-04-04, 20:00:20 »
Hello!
Had a question in the "help" area and since nobody said a word i assume this feature is not in Corona yet.

When you in interactive mode and resize the VFB, the whole scene restarting and image get resized to a new size of the VFB which is annoyng as hell. In VRay there is an option to turn off "Fit resolution to VFB".

Would be awesome to have this feature in Corona, guys. Please, add it!

So i assume it is impossible, right?

[Max] I need help! / How to turn off Fit resolution to VFB?
« on: 2018-04-03, 23:22:54 »
Hello!

Is there an oprion to use fixed full image size in Interactive render? I mean when you in interactive mode and resize the VFB, the whole scene restarting and image get resized to a new size of the VFB which is annoyng as hell. In VRay there is an option to turn off "Fit resolution to VFB" and it all works. Is there the same option in Corona?

Thanks a lot!
Cheers!

Hello! My new fun project. Hope you like it, guys!

Hello guys!

It would really make life easier with a roll out menue like vray has. Guys please do something like this )) this feature is very convenient (when you can turn on and off stuff like "visible in reflection/refraction" on the fly). I know you did most of it on shader level with CoronaRaySwitch but in my routine work i found it`s not very convenient and fast (

So guys if you add this small feature, would be gorgeous!

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Refraction override "bug"
« on: 2017-02-22, 11:45:02 »
Hi!

Don`t know if its a bug or not, but it works i bit wrong to me.
When you turn on Refraction override in global Scene Environment, it replaces the HDR map you use for black. So the reflections and light on the objects changes. But it should keep the HDR map and do just a black where you see refractions. Could you please fix that? It`s really annoing )

Incredible! Absolutely love it! What was your lighting setup and what type of hdri? The colours you get are nice.  Did you use any LUT's?

Many thanks! I use couple of HDR maps with different angles. HDRI was fron the current place there in Hong Kong. And yes, i used LUTs in photoshop.

Great work, nice details; Could you please share a clay render. Is the background city image or 3d.

Sure, here they are. Back is photo, no 3d there.

cool! the rain is amazing, how did you do that?

... Some small areas (chromic parts and so on) needed much more passes, so i rendered them as regions with 100-150 passes more (it was like 10% of the image, not a big deal)
I remember I did separate render on some vases with refraction as they need more passes to make the noises cleaner, that was the days where corona still has no adaptive sampling feature. I mean, did you turn off the adaptive or maybe you experience the bug of adaptive sampling feature? because with this feature the noises must be uniform in whole rendered image

Thank You!

Rain itself is the postwork in photoshop - blured particles rendered separately.
Rain on the car is a displacement map on shaders.

Adaptivness is on. It`s on by default as i remember. I don`t turn it off. But looks like it do not work as you describe "the noises must be uniform in whole rendered image". It`s defenetely not )))

Thanks a lot, guys!

Render done in 6K rez. Exterior shot was about 190-200 passes. Interior is about 220 or so. Some small areas (chromic parts and so on) needed much more passes, so i rendered them as regions with 100-150 passes more (it was like 10% of the image, not a big deal)
