Shouldn't happen, AFAIK 0 in Corona is just another valid seed, unlike in some other programs where seed 0, or -1 means random seed on each evaluation.

Splitting and moving the messages to bug reporting board.

Thank you for cleaning up my mess, and clarification!
Tried changing to some specific seed value, and as you mentioned bug still happens. Maybe less but just could be a different pattern.
Then its maybe problem with my setup. It's tyflow animated object, exported to vray proxy.
Maybe vray proxy part causes problems? It's building shaped boxes with a lot materials for facades, roofs, etc. Plus color variations for diffuse, with multimap that causes problems.

It would be nice to have your resolve/fusion workflow to see how you manage to create those LUT's... ;)

Between the -1.2 string, the "log" option in the vfb lut, the AgX ocio and DCTL (that i managed to install in resolve+fusion), the custom color correct node, well...it gets a little confused ;)

So when i color edit a 32bit image with Agx and dctl, i have trouble exporting to a lut to have the same result in the corona vfb

well,
feel free to ask the Corona Team why things are so convoluted with luts in CIE and frame buffer: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=40988.0;all

if you're on 11.1 - you can use Gamma Operator 0.455 before LUT operators and the rest of invisible gamma transforms is cancelling itself out. no need for string option and this would work in CIE as well.

Fusion exports luts only for closed domain of 0-1 float, same as photoshop and most lut tools.
Easy way of doing that in Corona is Highlight compression 999 (Reinhard tonemapper x=y/(y+1)) - it acts as your log encoding - raw render is compressed into 0-1 range and lut can access those colour easily.
So in Fusion after creating hald image you need to apply reversed Reinhard on it, convert to arri logC3 and then AgX DCTL >>> and you have a lut that does Reinhard to one of AgX DCTL displays.

what are you trying to create exactly? a macro from Fusion is of no use if you do not know the math behind.

Thank you very much. I hope the Chinese version can be put on the schedule quickly. If you need help, I am willing to provide Chinese support for corona.

[Max] I need help! / Re: CoronaMtl>Standard?

I apologize for resuscitating an old topic. A few days ago I needed to convert a lot of files from Corona to Standard and I was looking for any information about what methods there are for this. I tried some free scripts, but I was not satisfied with the result. As a result, I came across this old topic, but the UMC listed here turned out to be very expensive for me, so I began to search further and finally found a tool that completely satisfied me, although it is also paid, but costs much less than UMC. Just want to tell other people who will be looking for such a tool to also consider a tool called V-RayMax Converter Pro, https://maxtools.3dzver.ru/vmcpro or https://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/v-raymax-converter-pro

Thanks for the info about this tool!
I was also looking for a long time for some tool to convert Corona to standard and found your info about V-RayMax Converter Pro.

By the way, this tool not only converts from corona to standard, but can also convert from vray to corona, and it does some things even better than the built-in corona converter.
for example, only with it I was able to convert the VrayUvwRandomizer map to CoronaMappingRandomizer.
I'm glad you found this info useful! This is truly the best converter today, I only use it now :)

It looks like bump on the clearcot (if used), which is similar to the base patterns.
If you are using Clearcoat, disable it bump/normal effect and see if the results are better.

Usually everything should be investigated - the model first of all. If everything is fine with it, check the material and UVs.

Yes, all of these are actually states/versions of the scene inside one file, simple Camera environment override will not cover all cases.

I am sure if states in 3ds Max were a bit more user friendly, no per-render-engine override and workarounds would be needed.

if "avoiding user mistakes" is THE strategy - was anything done about Tone Curve after this thread:
https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=40616.0

an updated tooltip or something?

No

Well of course you can author your textures in photoshop or wherever else and if you find it to be a lot easier and more flexible, then go for it. I see the situation completely opposite from you, for me procedural building of texture in 3ds Max is way more flexible and very often much faster too. If i need to adjust something, most of the time it's just a matter of moving a slider or two, or entering different numeric value instead of rebuilding texture from scratch in photoshop. And let's not forget memory savings - according to Corona report your bespoke texture takes 110 MB of RAM and my tiling texture is taking just a 770 kB (in fact i could've easily replace it with gradient ramp, so my memory footprint could have been zero). One more thing - if you would need to use this texture on different size or shape bottle, you most likely would have to rebuilt it from scratch, while with my approach, it's just a matter of adjusting some parameters and tiling, which all can be done with Corona IR running and having clear visual guidance.

I'm not forcing you to adopt my workflows, if you're more comfortable with your way of doing things, then by all means do it the way you like it and ignore my setup. After all there's many ways of doing the same thing in 3ds Max and everyone is free to chose what works for them ;]

Hi Romullus,

Thanks again for your feedback. I apologize if my previous message came across as critical of your approach.  My intention was simply to highlight that similar effects could potentially be achieved using Photoshop as well. It was more of an observation than a critique.

I completely agree that your method offers advantages.  As someone new to Corona, the technical aspects –  understanding how different tools (maps, textures, nodes, etc.) function and when to use them –  present a significant learning curve.  Unfortunately, I have found good tutorials are hard to find, and the Corona manual itself leaves much to be desired.  While the basics might suffice for architectural visualization work, Corona's learning curve steepens considerably for advanced tasks like product rendering. It's not a program you can master quickly, at least in my opinion. Corona could definitely improve onboarding for new users and include more learning resources for those engaging in areas outside of archvis.

[C4D] I need help! / Corona VFB vs Picture Viewer
« Last post by GazzaMataz on Yesterday at 19:37:39 »
Hi Peeps

OK I am using a PC with a TR 1920 CPU running at 3.5 ghz and when I render through VFB the test render I am doing takes 4 mins. When I do the same through Picture Viewer it takes the same. Now a colleague of mine has a Studio Mac which benches twice the speed of my PC using Corona Benchmark. He is rendering the same scene in VFB in just 1 min and yet it takes him 2 mins in Picture Viewer. He does have twice the RAM (64gb as opposed to my 32gb) as I do but I don't think that should make any difference.

What I want to know is how is he getting the 4x speed improvement in VFB over me? In theory my renders should only take twice as long…

Did you check UV mapping of the wall object, maybe it's wrong?
