Title: [solved] Nvidia denoiser bug
Post by: Bjoershol on 2022-06-17, 11:07:19
Hi,

I have been getting a bug with Nvidia ai denoiser for a while. Happened in Max 2022 / Corona 7, and with Max 2023 / Corona 8.

Does not happen every time I render, and with just some scenes. It disappears if I turn off deniosing in VFB, and does not happen with any other denoiser.

Does not happen using interactive rendering.

Hi,

Do you have the latest Nvidia drivers installed?

The optix denoiser is now included in the Nvidia drivers, rather than directly in Corona.

Hopefully updating your drivers will fix this issue :)

@Jony, most likely your graphic card is not supported by optix denoiser. Updating drivers will not help in that case. Luckily Corona does not really need optix for rendering, only for interactive denoising. If you go to render setup>performance>interactive rendering and uncheck fast preview denoise during rendering, you should not see this error message again and the rendering performance won't be affected.
