Holy shit you're fast!  I'll give it a try in just a bit and let you know.
(looks like a new build may be coming too)

Porting and API / Corona for Sketchup Discussion
« on: 2014-12-20, 19:37:41 »
Hi all!

I've mentioned to KM that I'm interested in helping to develop a "Corona for Sketchup".  I am not much of a programmer myself, so I'm looking to find someone with the right programming skillset to help me make this happen.

I was hoping to start a discussion in these regards to see if anyone was interested in helping and also to hear some general opinions/wishes for it's development.

Thanks,
TPA

KM, when you get a change (I know you must be incredibly busy) could you maybe update the daily build changelog?  If so, thanks!

Also, does anyone know what the most stable/usable build has been since the 7.1 release?

In this case it's a problem with the Autodesk materials/maps. Unfortunately I cannot create Autodesk maps inside 3dsmax which makes debugging impossible. Could you provide a simple scene with a bunch of (crashing) materials that I can use? I'm trying to find some in the internet but I've not been not lucky yet.

If you see others errors please report them as well. It might not be the same error. I don't have any here with new/my scenes.

Sending scene through PM

P.S. I'm seeing these script error/s every time I try to use .27 and on any scene, even on a brand new one.  Also, just tried .22 and looks like the same problem, so it might be something new with 12/19 build.  Will test with 12/16 build next.

Getting script errors with v0.27 and the 12/19 daily.  Screenshot attached.

FYI, I really like new layout features I'm seeing in v0.27 (been using V0.20 til now).

Btw,your script has been incredibly helpful in my work, thank you soooo much for developing it and for all your hard work doing so!

mantis

Will do, thanks!

How about the ACM converter, you officially support it now, right?  Should it's bugs/issues be reported though Mantis or in the main ACM thread?

KM, what's the preferred method for submitting bugs/issues?  Through Mantis, this thread, or both?
(just submitted a couple through Mantis)

Wow!  All of your mats here are fantastic, but that brick/wood base are just perfect!

I'm both happy for your accomplishment.... and mad with jealousy! (damn it!)

That's good to know, I've been thinking about getting that plugin.  Thanks!

You certainly did an excellent job with that snow in the front!  Did you use any plugins for that or just good texture/materials work?

Very nice work!  I really like this last one, those reflections really add to the realism.  That couch model is fantastic too as well as the materials you're using of it.

Hi everyone!  I've actually been using Corona quite a bit this year but haven't really put up much of this work here in the Gallery yet.  Thought it would probably be easier to just make one big gallery post to show all my current and past Corona work.

I've been moving more and more full-time with Corona over the last few months and have officially decided I'm done with the other renderers (mostly Vray, Thea, or Maxwell).  I've really been "on the fence" this year trying to decide which engine to move our production work to.  Was kind of a toss up between Thea and Corona, but the latest Thea update (1.4) is still not quite where I wish it could be, so I'm going to finally put my full hopes and support behind Corona! (Can't wait for 1.0!)

Anyhow, comments and critiques are welcome (creative criticism is certainly helpful for improving ones work!) and I'm more the happy to answer any questions.  Thanks!

P.S. Did I mention I LOVE corona render!  It's been such an enjoyable and (mostly) pain free engine to use, certainly compared everything else currently out there!
A big "Thank You!" to Ondra, Adam, Jaroslav, and everyone else helping to build this fantastic piece of software!

I have to get good at displacement, I will follow your advice. Thank you.

P.S.  I forgot to mention that I also had to use a meshsmooth modifier with the iterations set to 0 to keep the edges from splitting.  It's not a great solution but it was the only thing I could do to get it to work!

Thanks for the advice regarding BIM software.
