Love it! This one was on my list of "personal projects to do" ever since i saw it in AJ a few years ago. Simply beautiful building, you did a great job on it too. :D

You could try a plugin called Render Pass manager to help with that. Its set up for vray but does work with other engines. Helpfull when you have multiple set ups and passes for cameras. It saves us so much time for things like this as well as visual sets per camera.

So essentially you would set up your camera passes using this and it automates the sending process.

Example- Set up "from scratch" pass
-Duplicate and change pass to "load and append"
-Duplicate again and chnage to render.

You could then duplicate all of these on the list and just change the active camera through the relevant drop down list.

When done click send and it will batch send everything to deadline/backburner for you.

Honestly, combined with visual sets this plugin can be a massive timesaver. Worth the learning curve to get used to it.

by the way im not affiliated with the above, i just use it daily at the studio :)

Yeah the shaded viewport is terrible for flickering. If you turn on clipping plane in the camera it sometimes works to stop/reduce this. Although I like the idea of this Corona method better, if you really went nuts on the de-noise I think the smoothness would almost look painterly :D

Some of the reactions on here have surprised me. I'm not a fan of the "Rental" way software development is going due, in part because our human nature is to want to own something. I dont like the idea of having to pay to do hobby work if i was no longer working upon retirement or change of careers. Here is where i think Adobe dropped the ball in not providing a long standing solution. How hard would it be to provide users that have subscribed for 5 - 10 years a perpetual licence of whatever version they stop their subscription at. No upgrades but they can still access all their work etc without losing features.(CS6 and CC)

At least corona is providing us options and is not just rental. And not too expensive ones either. The box model is not expensive, for what is a very robust high quality engine that is only going to improve. For those that cant afford the outright cost you can jump on the SaaS version and can buy the box when they have the funds if thats what they choose.

In the end it has to be financially viable not just to cover costs but also turn over a profit as we are all entitled to the fruits of our labour. Cash flow is better and more stable under rental so i understand why that is the preferred option for developing. Saas is subsidised for quick cheap uptake of the engine and all the benefits associated with Saas. Yes this becomes more expensive than buying outright, but that is the point, it has to balance the books for development AND profit and you get more extras.

The options are there so if you don't want one choose the other. SaaS is not interest free credit to buy the software. I think the license flexibilty provided is an exemplary example of trying to do what's best for users WHILE having a successful business and product. The options are fairly balanced in my opinion.

I do think there is space in these rental schemes for a "loyalty reward" that says after a certain amount of time leasing you gain permanent access to whatever version you stop subscription at. Therefore giving your money some future value. The lack of this feature is my biggest gripe with rental options, that I would be completely stuck in to paying if i ever wanted to do any work with old files or hobby work after my time in a paid career has ended.

Apologies for the Tome of writing, I just find what you guys at Corona have created is perhaps the best example of open product and software development I have seen. I hope you reap the rewards from your hard work and staying true to your original goals.

Beautiful shot man! Such a simple material too.

Those leaves fairly high poly, and randomness added to them to get the variety?

Thanks BKE.

Rendered on a single I7 930.

- Courtyard 01 I left overnight. As it was my first full resolution render i didnt have a time in mind so set it for 7 hours and when I got up in the morning it was fine. cant remember the passes off hand. I think around 50 but I will double check when I get home. Courtyard 1 and 2 were rendered PT+PT
- Interior 01 took around 3 or 4 hours if I remember right. Interiors were rendered with PT+HD Cache.

I was trying a different way of doing CA than I usually would go about it. Maybe over did it a little.

Composition is one of those things where everyday is a school day and there is always somewhere to improve, I really should try and squeeze more time to look at more photography. Time is tight, you know how it is. Out of curiosity what would you do differently?

Thanks for the constructive criticism, really appreciate you taking the time. :)

Hey Guys,

First post, been lurking here for around a week although i signed up a little while ago. I had been hearing great things about Corona so decided to give it a try myself. I had this project that i had put together with Vray, just a personal piece and i thought it was perfect to give Corona a run. Its a private house called Casa Gaspar in southern Spain by architect Alberto Campo Beaza. Apologies for the lack of externals, i tried the corona scatter but it was too simple to convert my Forest Pack foliage scattering and i haven't updated my license for that yet.

I love coronas GI quality and the relative speed to quality ratio, i had to work much harder to achieve similar with Vray. It was seriously enjoyable and addictive to work with and felt much more free to create for some reason. Planning to stick with Corona and looking forward to see how it progresses!

I did have some niggles that i experienced and things that i missed from my Vray workflow, namely Vrays directional AO bias for nice masks for drips would have been handy when creating the white render material. I also had a problem with getting light to cast through an excluded object (i.e. a corona light inside a diffuser not casting through the excluded lamp diffuser that was set up with a Corona light material just for self illumination). This is probably more user error as it was my first bash with corona. Other than those its been a pleasure working with Corona.

Some simple post production, nothing drastic though. The renders straight out were great and only did some minor bits and pieces like slight colour adjustments etc. There is still some noise kicking about, one or two could maybe have had longer in the oven. Especially the close up shot of the Glass pear, i had to use noise reduction to help clear some, but i only rendered it for an hour.

Any way, hope you like them. :D
