When I applied the HDRI to Corona light material, the shadows did not change. When increasing the emission, it is automatically inreasing everything which of course is not the thing I want to have.

I have also problems with too soft shadows. Do you know guys what is wrong?

Wow! I did not see that one in R20 presentation. Oh I can't wait to get my hands on that :). It is good that I skipped upgrade'ing to 19 :D.

After last beta rendering grass through MoGraph or SurfaceSpread is a hell. It takes for ever to start the rendering. The difference is huge. Please check the problem.

Regarding the white colour I have been corrected some time ago, that you should not max it out but instead keep around 75-80%. 85% for "super-white". Because everything above will make too strong white colour, hard to control.

38
Not a lot have changed - Surface Spread, MoGraph and MultiCloner are not giving the best results.

39
Will you add Multicloner support?

40
May I ask you for your displacement map?

The reason why it was in C4D was that is I am struggling to get the right effect in C4D. There will be a bit different approach to it in Max.

But then I am receiving this:

Hi guys!

So I have been working recently on a visualisation where the client wanted to put more or less this HAY's carpet:
http://hay.dk/en/hay/accessories/living/rugs/peas

The model on 3dsky was terrible so I decided to make one from scratch. I made it to look like this:

Cloner with sphere + hairs from two planes (in the middle of a section of the top spheres and second one in the middle of a section of the lower spheres).

But this look a bit lame. Moreover, when I tried to use it in my scene, it looked, in my opinion, really bad:

Moreover, it is rendering for incredibly long time.

So my question to you guys is:

  • How would you do this carpet?
  • How would you make the "cozy/fluffy hair" (standing out sometimes - this is not a fully fluffy carpt!) effect?
  • How do you approach this kind of things when it comes to wool materials?

I was wondering if we can all together come to some solution and share it as an example file in this thread so everybody can use it :).

I just asked because this is not looking at all like Scandinavian style.
