Hi there,

So I have this railclone ready package and use it for projects but I encounter some really long file parsing and it becomes sluggish to work with.

It looks like Corona (or MAX) is converting all the railclone refs to geometry before rendering and it takes ages and of course a lot of polys and RAM. Is there someone else who encountered this and\or has a workaround for this? I unfortunately don't have that much knowledge of Railclone lite and I don't know where to begin tackling this issue.

I have this pack and completely omit using it alongside Railclone.  Try using  Forest pack instead in spline mode for instance.
Personally use RC quite a lot, but as a rule of thumb - eveyrhting related to Architecture and hard-surface - good to go with RC. Everything organic with leaves regardless of scale - FP.
This could be a quite general advice, but is a good start.

Have to acknowledge the fact that back in 2017/18 Corona + 3ds max 2018+ both iToo plugins worked bit smoother.

Thx for replying and giving your thoughts about Railclone in combination with vegetation. I used the files in a project using Corona 5 and it was kinda doable, but moving to Corona 6 it becomes quite useless. I still don't get why everything is getting converted to meshes in the first place though, I assumed that Railclone had the ability to use proxies as Forest Pack does.

Still I would like to get some reply from Itoo or Corona what the bottleneck is precisely and if there is a solution to it. Let's hope for the best.

I apply for a second prompt box saying "Are you absolutely sure you want to render?" You never know...

Hi there,

NASA released some high detailed textures from the moon's surface. Let's see what corona can do with it :)

Very strong images, nice work!

Good use of colors and composition, third one is my favorite. Can you give a hint what software you used for the paint brush strokes one image 1? Obvious inspiration from Stalenhag I presume :) ?

Very annoying indeed. Would be nice to have this fixed asap. Any dev news on this bug?

Thanks everybody for contributing your mouse experiences and I was surprised by all the different user preferences everybody has. I dug deeper into several types and in the end I decided to go for the Logitech MX Master 2S.

Price wise (I got it for 79 euros) it isn't the cheapest one out there but this device feels very robust and for me it has a perfect grip, smooth buttons and a fantastic customizable scroll wheel so I don't regret getting it. I've been using it for a week now, but after a day or two I even forgot I had a new mouse and I only felt bad that I waited too long for a replacement of my old wobbly Rival gaming mouse.

There are several options (logitech software) to tweak your mouse to your own preferences, but the default already work well enough for me

So if you need a new one I can recommend this one to give it a try.

Ah thanks for your suggestions, didn't cross my mind. Second suggestion is perfect for me!

[Max] General Discussion / Names of corona map types
« on: 2019-04-25, 10:24:31 »
Hi there,

In the Material/Map Browser I often type the name of a specific map to find it quicker but the problem here is that all the Corona maps start with "Corona". Wouldn't it be more convenient to change "Corona" into just a simple "C"? So for example instead of "CoronaBitmap" it would be "Cbitmap". now you only need to type "cb" to quickly find a "CoronaBitmap" map.

I am aware that when using the SME it isn't a big issue but I still like to use the old fashion CME.

Hope my suggestion is clearly explained.

Im currently having an issue with one out of 25 nodes hanging for over three hours longer than the rest of the nodes and whilst support restarted the node i was only offered a refund if i cancelled the render "since youve already missed your deadline"

Had exactly the same issue. Never tried it again, it takes more time to upload without any issues and hope for a final render to be received then eventually render it out by myself. I believe I still have a great amount of renderpoints left but I don't dare to use them...

Let's hope Chaos Cloud will be around soon for Corona.

Same here. Not sure if it's related to MAX 2019, Corona 3.x or FP but I didn't have it before. For now I have all my forest pack objects in a layer to easily turn them on and off but a better viewport performance would be highly appreciated.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Can you make macro for this?
« on: 2019-04-04, 15:22:32 »
I also couldn't live without Vray HDRI first because of the easy gamma adjustment, but in Corona I found there is a better\more flexible solution to this.

Put a corona color correct map in the environment slot and instance drag it into the mat editor. Now you can load a HDRI with a Corona bitmap shader and voila, easy adjustable gamma correction and several other options too.

Perhaps you now don't need to shuffle between Vray and Corona anymore :)
