Title: Crash when staring IR - 3ds Max settings reset.

So often I have this
I start 3ds max scene, do my stuff save it and start IR for tweaking or something. BOoom crash and all my 3ds max settings reset I even get the fresh install welcome screen.

Does anyone else experience this?

have you tried the same scene, same process on another computer?

Hmm never had it happens but heard of similar issues with several max instances running simultaneously with newer versions of max... what version is this?
But it definitely sounds awful.

(*) Do you have some plug-in installed inside 3ds Max?
(*) Do you use some plug-in in your crashed .max file?
(*) Can you try a fresh 3ds Max installation?
(*) Do you have different 3ds Max version installed?
(*) Can you send us minidump file?
(*) etc...

It's very difficult to solve your problem without infos ?=

Yes, happends often

I do run several max instances

(*) Do you have some plug-in installed inside 3ds Max?
(*) Do you use some plug-in in your crashed .max file?
(*) Can you try a fresh 3ds Max installation?
(*) Do you have different 3ds Max version installed?
(*) Can you send us minidump file?
(*) etc...

It's very difficult to solve your problem without infos ?=



1. I do use plugins.
2. I sometimes do
3. I did, but never fully fresh
4. I do not
5. Sure I can, before this I rather waned to ask around before I start buging support too much with dumps.
6. etc.

From what I have understand that might not be Corona issue, as it can be something with multiple 3ds max instances open. I will investigate that before sending dumps etc.
