Hi All,

I experienced that in Max 2020 if I set any value bigger than 0 in the new Physical size parameter IR starts and CPU on 100% but nothing appears on the render and you can't stop or cancel rendering so only option to force close Max. I got confirmation from others that it's not an individual issue. Also no specific scene (it does that even with a simple plane with water material and the camera with a sun and sky system.

Thanks

Hello,

I experienced even in the daily builds but now in the final release too that if I use CoronaCam with Photogrpahic exposure in the VFB (I replace the simple exposure with it) it just won't update when I change any parameter in the Cam (like ISO, ss or F stop).

Am I doing something wrong here?
Override isn't checked in the Cam tone mapping tab, and Simple exposure just works fine.

Thanks for the info,

[Max] Feature Requests / Stable Diffusion AI integration
« on: 2022-09-08, 01:04:46 »
Hi All,

In the recent months text to image and image to image AI usage are spreading quickly. As Stable diffusion is open source and will radically change the whole industry I think it would be very cool if chaos or specifically Corona would consider to somehow implement this into the software.

I already saw that someone wrote a plugin for C4D which can interactively feed the viewport or the render to the Ai and based on it's prompt it changes the output.

You can see that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/x6cbwp/wrote_a_plugin_that_renders_the_cinema_4d_scene/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

The video shows the viewport feeding to the AI. Now I would be interested in using this in the VFB with Corona rending from CPU and based on the AI prompt the GPU may interactively do the diffusion steps. It could be as an overlay which you can turn on and off.

This would open up a whole new perspective to convert your render to different styles etc.
Definitely would worth to just consider how to incorporate this new powerful and free asset into the renderer.
As I can see competition will be strong. What do you think?

Hi,

I am testing the new build (01.26) with Tyflow.
If I understand correctly now it supports render instancing.
For me particles are still invisible if the mesh node is set to render instance (see attachent).
Did I do something wrong or this per-instance time variation you mentioned in the changlog has something to do with this?

Thanks!

[Max] Daily Builds / Re: Corona Slicer Material playground!
« on: 2022-01-13, 13:18:33 »
Hi,

The new slicer is amazing, really useful new feature!
I have one question: is it possible to have displacement on the slicer object. For me it seem that displacement works properly on the object which I sliced from but it isn't visible on the slicer.
Did I do something wrong?

Thanks

As Tyflow is becoming more and more a general tool it would be good to see instancing in Corona asap. Same happened to me the other day: I had to use vray for rendering a sim although I would like to use Corona for these kind of jobs too.

++++++++1 Please!

Hello!

I relaized that with Corona 6 when I convert Vray materials with Corona converter the converted materials sometimes won't show up on masks as the Propagate masks option is set to Always. I tried to figure out what's the pattern and what is the cause of this with no luck. It would be nice to have a checkbox in Corona converter though so you can decide if the newly created materials should be set to Never or Always.

Hi!

I used the last Daily before the RC 1 for this test but now I updated and tested again. I've got the some results.
I can send over the scene. Is there a specific email address for that?

Cheers,
Manó

Hi Guys,

I just tested the new 2.5 displacement feature (which is awesome) and realized that something isn't right when I put the displacement map into a corona triplanar.
I don't know if that is already supposed to work but maybe you would like to take a look on that.

I attached a test result:

Hi Guys!

Pampas is my latest personal project.
I aimed to create a photorealistic set of images with great care for details.
I was inspired by the mood and style of Mary Lennox installations.
Working on this one was joyful and yet challenging but definitely worth every moment of my time.

Software used: PlantFactory, Marvelous Designer, 3ds Max, Corona 4 latest daily build (btw I like the new focus and object picking features), Ps

I hope you like it!

This is a personal artwork which I call Faroe. It was my entry for the CG Architect Award 2017. The image was inspired by the photography of Jonathan Gregson.
My intention was to express a sense of immense space and the feeling of being insignificant compared to the extents of the natural world.

For the technical part I wanted to create a fully CG environment with as little post production as possible. In the FPP scattering I used baked procedural maps (Bercon noise, Corona AO and Corona distance) for density and size control.

Software used:
3ds Max, ZBrush, Forest Pack Pro, Corona, Photoshop

Comments are welcome!

Hi,

I think they look very well executed. Great color schemes and some very interested designs I see. The dented bowls with the stones are spot on!

On the second pic perhaps the stone floor could be more natural colored, more greyish perhaps. Overall the detailing\finishing of the walls are impressive. Well done.

Thank you very much!
The color schemes were a very important aspect of the images (so the carefully selected furniture) as they were created for trend forecasting reports.
The vases with stones are designed by a basque designer/potter, Martín Azúa. It was great fun modeling that part.
I created the wall textures in Ps from scratch, basically they were built from solid color adjustment layers masked with dirtmaps in a quite high resolution.

I agree with you concerning the floor I guess I was tempted by the overall mood that could have led to the less natural color.

Hi everyone!

These three related images are my latest work for my diploma thesis.

For modeling I used 3ds Max and Rhino with detailing in zBrush. Marvelous designer for fabric. Plant factory and Ivy generator for vegetation.
Of course Corona for rendering. It was extremely helpful to use Corona distance and Corona AO for detailing. And it is a pleasure to work with the light mix.
Also Ps for post prodoction.

Questions and comments are welcome!
