Hi Bengamin.

I could not send the scene file when you asked before in the previous post.
But I reinstalled the daily build again to make a test scene to send you and just before uploading I tested it and was working. So... seems if I "save with assets" and open it again, works. Like was suggested in this post already, maybe the issue is with the links from materials/proxies to the Asset Browser and/or Chaos Cosmos folder.

I still did not find time to build up a new scene with the Daily Built installed (maybe also works) instead of opening an old scene.

Hi,

In the new Daily Build from Corona 12 March 11, when I close a C4D scene (saved with the new daily installed) and open it again this scene will appear 100% loaded in the C4D task manager but never open. I tested with several scenes. I could only open it again when installing back the Corona 11 last stable release.

Anyone have the same issue, so I can understand what is wrong?

Or would be possible to use the old OIDN denoiser from Corona 10 till this new one is implemented in the new versions of Corona?

smckenzie, I was also wondering if that will be the problem, but the previous versions and daily builds were working fine with the Intel denoising in my Mac.

The Intel CPU/GPU AI denoising is not working in M1 with Corona 11, is it only me or is someone having the same issue?

Just a suggestion, as the problem has already been 3 years, and if it is not possible to resolve It soon... Maybe the Corona team could add in the new Lister a tab for the Corona bitmaps so they all can be changed in one go.
Not a perfect solution but would be great already as a walkaround soon.

Hi, I'm from the C4D team :) I use standard C4D lights for this as it produces pin-sharp results, fast to render and also works with the Corona Volume material. A Corona light set to 100% directionality is literally the opposite ;(



Hello Bengamin, thank you very much for your reply.
Some years ago, we discuss the same topic in an old forum thread in 2019.
Back then, the best way was using C4d lights with a C4d material (and the texture in the transparency slot), this is still how I do it but have the setback of we dont see it in IR and is really difficult to match the mapping / dimension in the material tag of the image with the camera projection cone...
For the example, you shared is still the same way? Or there are some tricks to resolve the previous "issues" mentioned.

It still seems impossible to have a projector from corona renderer without using Standard Max lights (Which not always work).
Any chance we see the option to du a real projector (like in a cinema). Or making directionality 1,0 really parallel.

Hi,

Max standard lights do work with Corona, if by not "working" you mean the updates in IR, this is unfortunately expected. You need to restart the IR to see the changes.
The best way for a projector effect with Corona currently is - Standard/photometric lights, CoronaShadows selected, Projector map used, Volume light effect added for the light.
The projector feature is already requested.

Is this working with C4d as well? I mean what is current the best way for a projector effect with Corona? By Standard/photometric lights you mean Corona Light with directionality 100%?!

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but when I create a new corona material with a tex (jpg) loaded in the corona bitmap and therefore drop it to the C4d Asset Browser, this tex slot of the corona bitmap appear as "Invalid bitmap file" and tex is not loaded.
But if a corona material was already in the Asset Browser (from previous corona versions), when loaded works everything as expected.
Also, if the Corona bitmap load the tex locally also works fine, it's just broken when loaded from Asset Browser.
I know broken links from corona bitmap / asset browser was already an issue in the past but was resolved. Am I missing something, or is a bug?
