I'm not sure what your problem is but I'd like to add that as far as I know these colours won't change anything as far as you are using Hosek&Wilkie sky model.

Work in Progress/Tests / Re: help with caustics
« on: 2014-04-23, 16:10:38 »
Looks like it's possible to get decent caustics only by using VCM, BDPM or PPM but they are pretty useless for all the rest of the rendering. :)

Can you get caustics from a glass material caused by bump map? I tried and fail both in progressive and VCM modes.

Gallery / Re: Corona Oreo

In the closeup shot it looks kind of fake. Like made of plastic. I think it's too reflective and too bright (it should be more black but maybe I'm wrong because I ate Oreo maybe one time in my life :P). And some small cracks and crumbs would be good too!

I didn't understand all you wrote but to render a sequence as separate files for each frame (a sequence of .jpgs .tifs or whatever you want):

1. set time or pass limit in "progressive rendering" tab
2. in max's "common" tab set "time segment" or "range" or whatever just to render a series of frames
3. chose output file name and folder
4. render

Don't use autosave. It is used to "backup" rendered image and it will always save in .exr.

Maru - what size of tree is "MEDIUM" for you (height in meters) ?
Maybe next pack i can made just for You, he he - i will take one of the tree from this pack which is "medium" and i made few (4-5) variations of this tree (other branches geometry and few trunk variations).
Give me info here on forum.
Nah, nothing important. I was just playing with Corona and thought I need a tree in a garden-like scene. I only had viz-people birches on my hdd (which are awesome but pretty huge) and suddenly I see your post. :)

Hey, I was just looking for a medium sized tree! Dzięki!

Well, you can add a pass with custom texture/map (CTexmap pass) but I'm not sure if it would be even possible to add a custom material pass. You wrote it would be good for checking how light behaves. Then let's imagine you would render the scene normally + put a pass with red material on everything. Light would behave completely different - first of all, it would bounce off red light so this would mean double calculations for your beauty pass and custom material pass. Maybe I'm dumb but that's how I see it. :P

Wow, this looks really delicious, animation too! I know I shouldn't write this but GREAT WORK!

As I can see, your "aqua" material is also invisible in material editor. Blend material doesn't like to work in all situations, we have to wait for Corona's dedicated version of such material.

I would approach this with as much fakes and procedural generation as possible. :)

What is the purpose of AO here?
You can also experiment with an object that has no thickness and a CoronaFrontBackMap. :)
