i think also using backburner, setting "split scan lines" with enougth number of stripes can solve the ram problem.

Wow. Haven't done that since 2007.

If you use more than one computer for rendering, Corona DR is the best solution for me.

BUT:
- for animation Buckburner work better then DR.
- and in rare case where you hve not enougth ram for eample for big resolution, the trick is use again backburner splitting in stripes the image to render.
Not all know that backburner can be used even with one single pc.

Exactly this. I cant imagine theres a printer out there that is printing 300dpi images that are multiple meters across.
Youre absolutely correct that most clients dont understand that a 70-150dpi image seen from 20 ft away is going to look more than fine when its billboard sized.

Youre absolutely correct that most clients dont understand that a 70-150dpi image seen from 20 ft away is going to look more than fine when its billboard sized.
All offset printing is done in 2400 dpi internally. Big inkjet printers usually work from 1200 dpi upwards. Viewing distance is what's important, for billboards you can get away with a few thousand pixels per side because the raster is coarse (roughly 30, 40 dpi will be enough). But viewing distance can require high res if needed, it all depends.

I did have much larger billboards in mind but yeah fair enough i hadnt considered things like high res art prints

Hi,

I needed this 28K resolution to make artprint for wallpaper.
I did this job already:) render 15K and double it with Topaz:) Looks amazing:)
