Is your scene modelled in real world dimensions? I suspect not because of the subject matter. Would that make a difference maru?

[Max] Feature Requests / Re: VFB DOF Controls via zdepth

I think it would be a useful feature to have for those of us that dont use cameras and just render from perspective mode when working quickly without the time to set up renders with cameras. I agree that proper DOF does render quickly and really nicely but it would be great to have the option to work with our render passes in the VFB.

Fair enough

So if i use photometric lights in corona i can get a somewhat accurate simulation still?

1490
Im confused. So is there a way in max using corona of getting accurate IES Intensity or not?

Now we have such great tools in the VFB it would be great to also be able to adjust the DOF in the vfb if youve rendered a zdepth pass!

1492
Could it be that simple... I hope so!

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Re: Lightmeters and corona

Did you figure out a workaround? Or any consistent maths behind the problem to get it to how it should be?

Any closer to having a solution that applies the objects texture to its bridge? In vray it is applied to lots and lots of objects in one go and it always looks great. If i understand correctly this only works on one object?

Has the 1.5.1 hotfix addressed any of the problems you had with the IES?

I have a 50k square foot building and a lighting plan set up. I have the cad plan with all of the metered lux levels marked every 8-10m on the plan. Im using corona so we can experiment with light levels and temperatures virtually with lightmix. But to ensure accuracy i want to make sure that A. The lux levels match as ive read a little on here that suggests ies data isnt all that accurate. And B. So i dont have to play with lightmix then set up a separate photometric scene to measure the Lux.

Is there any way of measuring lux levels in corona like you can with the lightmeter in MR?

Yes it does. My bad :) Looks like it might be time to invest in a couple of those 22 core xeons :D
