Hello,

A little but annoying thing in VFB region rendering that would be great to solve. Let's say you work on a scene, using region rendering to check things here and there. Then you save the scene, close 3dsmax, and reopen the scene later, open the VFB, region rendering is greyed out ... no way to know if it's activated or not. So you have to run rendering to discover region rendering is actually on, which can often be annoying to say the least. Please guys, would it be possible to either:

- make region rendering controls available when VFB is run for the first time in a scene, so that we can set it off before rendering if needed
- or display a warning message like "Region rendering was left activated, do you want to keep it on ? with Yes button (-> it stays on) and No button (-> it's set off)

What do you think ?

Thank you.

Yes, great point. I've lost a few hundred hours after checking frames and noticing the scene was sent with region rendering on.

Do whatever makes sense to implement the warning or indicator, it just needs some sort of arm waving.

I was JUST about to start a new thread about this and decided to see if anyone else had similar problems. I just wasted about an hour trying to "debug" my scene when it was rendering black because apparently I clicked a pixel-sized region accidentally while working... When the region is that small, the red box doesn't show up AND there's no notification that a region is used. I damn near uninstalled corona and reinstalled before disabling regions in the VFB.

Even if you could code the VFB to highlight the "Render Region" button to make it known there's an active region, that would be a huuuuuge help.

Thanks!

We have a similar report open in our internal tracker, and we will definitely think how this could be improved.
Meanwhile you should be able to use the scrip by Frood: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=21247.msg131074#msg131074
