It would be wonderful to have a custom Corona gobos sun parameter or maybe modifier. Would be a HUGE improvement versus using subpar planes with opacity. I could see a vast variety of looks for this (similar to Greyscalegorilla).

My static pans need this, lol.

Have to bring up this bug again. Seems to be a recurring issue with animating. I never touch the CMasking_Mask render element once I start animating, but it seems to reset and turn off the RGB so no masks render and puts animated red [] around all the spinners. I have to delete the element and start over since I can't modify it (it's greyed out -- see above old bug report). Been happening for years.

Maybe it's related to Deadline? I can't isolate it, but maybe it's because of submitting jobs.

I'm having a difficult time adjusting the Curves in the tone mapping Curve Control in v9. It's difficult to make adjustments since it takes a few seconds per adjustment and seems very sticky. Any ideas?

This was a fun one! We were tasked with recreating the NYC Central Park John Lennon Strawberry Fields memorial for this 1960s inspired line of textiles.

3DS Max, TyFlow, Corona, and Nuke were used. Hoping to get TyFlow motion blur for particles in a future release. 🤞

I'm experiencing an issue with Corona 7 and Phoenix 44100. It will render 80 frames and then the last 16 frames are missing the smoke. I'll delete the phoenix source, add a new one and load the simulation, but I experience the same issue with the missing frames changing to different frames. The smoke is visible in the viewport, but nothing renders.

Edit: I tried to render out the vdb sequence using the Corona volume grid, but again, a similar issue occurs. It just stops rendering the smoke after a certain frame. Vray renders both no problem.

Any ideas?

It seems to have been an issue with the randomizer corrupting and was an issue for non-proxie geo as well. After I replaced it with a new one, using instance setting works fine.

I can't seem to get the randomizer to work with Corona proxies. Is there a trick to this or is it a known bug?

It seems that only W rotation will work. U and V have no effect.

I'm using Max 2021 and Corona 6 hotfix 1.


This is now popping up on all my older v5 animations. You can see the difference between these two pics. I'm using default settings for the randomizer blending.

I was just rendering an animation scene that was originally created with version 5 and now version 6 has changed the uvw randomizer map so that my floor concrete texture doesn't match the v5 version anymore. Is this a known bug?

So, this seems to continue to be an issue. The Material Gbuf ID checkboxes keep getting unchecked in my scene and they are not animated. I have a feeling it's after Deadline submits the job, but I'll keep an eye on it.

You are correct, thanks for updating me. I was able to delete the keys in the dope sheet window. It's weird how the Material Gbuf IDs are greyed out though when the timeline is not on a key.

Using Corona 5, Max 2020.3, Windows 10.

Also, just to update you on how bad this gets. The mask element eventually breaks completely and I'm unable to use the RGB mode. It becomes completely greyed out and I have to close out the file and reopen Max to get it to work again.
