Saved color profile
(1/1)
LeSill:
Hello, folks.
The first issue was a slight difference in colors between the Corona VFB and the final render. I wouldn't mind if the difference was minor, but I had several rather huge fabric objects in the scene, and the texture differences were quite noticeable. So I discovered that changing the default frame buffer in preferences/Corona to Corona VFB preserves the colors saved in final renders. The issue is that the images have a LINEAR color profile.
Because of the wider gamut, my client has requested that I deliver/render it using the Adobe RGB 1998 color profile. Maxon support advised me how to save it using the Adobe RGB color profile. I downloaded the color profile and loaded it into Cinema's save settings. Unfortunately, the images are still saved in LINEAR color space (perhaps because the default framer buffer is set to Corona VFB). I can convert it to multiple color spaces in Photoshop, but I believe it is not the best method.
The second issue concerns the color profile of images saved directly from the VFB. I wanted to store a couple alternative lightings by adjusting the lights in the LIGHTMIX tab. When I save an image directly from the VFB, the resulting image uses the color profile of my monitor.
How can I save the images with Adobe RGB 1998 when the rendering is complete, and how can I store the images with the same color profile when I save them straight in the VFB by pressing the save button?
LeSill:
Really, no conclusion suggestions here? Did someone examine the color profile of an image saved directly from the VFB?
Stefan-L:
make sure you do NOT use the c4d color profile for render but the corona one(set in corona preferences.
i recommend using the corona VFB for fonal render not the picture viewer.
here we have same for preview and final render

Hi Stefan, why do you prefer VFB and Corona Color space over native C4D picture viewer and color space?
Is it just to have the same result in preview and final render, or are there other reasons as well? Just interested. :)
