[Max] I need help! / Re: DR - ignores Environment Variable?
« on: 2020-10-01, 07:49:55 »
Said environment variable is already set on the slave and works perfectly if I open up 3ds max.
But, when launching 3ds max via the corona DR tool it loop-crashes.

[Max] I need help! / DR - ignores Environment Variable?
« on: 2020-09-21, 12:18:25 »
I have this Megascans workaround that you place an environment variable
Code: [Select]
ADSK_3DSMAX_PYTHON_VERSION=2and it allows you to install Megascans in 3dsmax 2021.

Its seems to work until I fire up DR, because it keeps crashing and the Max log shows up it has something to do with Megascans.
I think this is because DR ignores the Environment Variable and fires up 3dsmax 2021 with python 3 instad of python 2..
I did remove Megascans from 3dsmax and it seemed to help and DR works as intended, but I want to keep using it.

Is there a way to fix it?

General CG Discussion / Re: best mouse for 3ds MAX
« on: 2019-02-05, 15:05:09 »
I use the Logitech M500. I really hated it at first and it was my backup in case the "Microsoft wheel mouse optical 1.1a" dies.
It was a very stressful time and I couldn't afford even 1 hour to get to the store and buy a proper tool.. so I got used to it.

I use this M500 for the past 5 or 6 years and it just won't die.
Even got a brand new M305 (which is very accurate for a wireless rat. it really blown my mind when I tried it at the store) and I don't have the power of will to make the switch.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Freeze mid-render
« on: 2018-12-04, 11:30:01 »
So after another night of intense rendering Corona 2 is behaving the same.
I will try to push some sys recovery and hope for the best.
I dont think its a RAM issue. I've been pushing some large scenes during the day with V-Ray and no issues.

[Max] I need help! / Freeze mid-render

Ok I need help.
I upgraded to version 3 and everything was great for like a week, but now almost every scene I have freezes after a few passes when I try to render it. Interactive Render works like a charm tho..
The fun thing is I can see 3dsmax still being loaded and and giving all vital signs in the Task Manager.
For now I downgraded back to Corona 2 and everything seems to be schwifty again.

Anyway yesterday everything was great with Corona 3 I was rendering like a happy psychopath... and the only thing changed since yesterday was some Windows update that forced itself in - KB4467682... not sure how this information's any good.

[Max] Bug Reporting / Re: 3dsmax UI and viewport lag
« on: 2017-11-08, 08:40:51 »
My first idea is that some antivirus/firewall (e.g. Windows Defender) may be checking the network traffic.

Tried playing around with those.. no results.

Now it got even worse. Now even IR lags the scene - even after stopped.

EDIT

Found a solution on this thread
https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=12209.msg85145#msg85145

Seems to be its a case in which CoronaBitmap causes lag with network paths.
Converted back to 3dsmax Bitmap and now everything is smooth again.

Anyway,
when this issues is going to be addressed? Its been a year since that post.

[Max] Bug Reporting / 3dsmax UI and viewport lag
« on: 2017-11-01, 14:05:11 »
I use Corona 1.7.
Just noticed an odd behavior.
When I work on a scene (around 6M poly) everything is smooth.
If I try to fire up IR - everything is okay.
But once I start the progressive rendering (with DR) it starts normally, but once I stop it and go back on working the scene everything is sluggish and laggy.
If I save and restart 3dsmax with the same scene - everything is smooth again.
