[Max] Daily Builds / Re: Daily Builds 1.5

Hey KOGODIS,
could you file a Mantis report? It would be really helpful if you could also attach a minimal scene in which the crash still occurs.

Thanks

Hey,
I apologize for the late answer! I have just tried what you suggested, but everything went through just fine using 3ds Max 2016 and Corona 1.3. What were the exact steps that led to this bug? Did you have a specific scene opened you could share? Could you try with the latest daily build?

Thanks!

daily build corrupts the scene after an interactive of a heavy scene or an scene with lots of forest objects, gives an error when saving.

same here i don't know what happened the scene is corrupt with some weird error i have never seen, see attachment

, is it possible its from corona?

Hey,
yes, the message seems to be Corona related. Could you give us the scene and try to more or less exactly describe the steps that led to it? That would be most helpful.

Thanks!

Ondra, thanks for trying to fix it. I hate to say it but it still freezes. But reports a correct time .

Hey,

damn... thanks for letting us know! Would it be possible to put together a build with some diagnostic information and give it to you to try? The problem has not occured to anyone here at the office.

Thanks,

Robin

Hey,
I was able to reproduce it and I have fixed it. Give it a go as soon as the next daily is out.

Cheers,
Robin

Hey,

can I have the map you were trying to load?

Thanks,
Robin

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Re: Animated Proxy from Grow Fx object

Hi,
do you have motion blur enabled? If so, the last frames might be visible at the beginning as well. Try switching animation mode to 'ping-pong' or 'freeze out of range'.

Let me know how it went. If the problem persist, can you give me the scene?

Cheers,
Robin

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Re: 1.3 Proxy mapping error

So I found the problem in the legacy cbin proxy loader and fixed it. There are still some other things we need to do before we release another daily build though, so it for sure won't be today. Once the daily is out you can work with it directly or you can just use it to convert your cbin proxies to cgeo ones.

At this moment the workaround is like I said. Load your cbin proxies and convert them into cproxy using corona 1.2.x. Those will work in 1.3 just fine and you won't need to convert them any further.

Regarding the format change. With cgeo we took the time to think about the extensibility of the format which was not the case before. So hopefully, we won't need to change the format (i.e. extension) for a long time.

Cheers,
Robin

Hey fobus,
that is a bug indeed. I will have a look at it. In the mean time I guess there is only one tedious workaround and that is: convert you cbin proxies to cproxy using 1.2. Those should work fine in 1.3.

Sorry about that,
Robin

Hey kirmoos,

can I have the scene or at least the bitmap? I will have a look at it and see what's going on.

Thanks,
Robin

Hi Mikhail,

we will need a bit more information in order to get this sorted. Is it possible to provide us with the scene through our private uploader? Can you capture and give us a minidump of the frozen process? In the mean time, can you give me a screenshot of the corona framebuffer when its frozen? Any displacement in the scene?

Thanks,
Robin

Hi,
thanks for taking the time to conduct the report!

I have just had a look at it, but I couldn't spot any difference between cmesh and cgeo proxy. What I did notice is that in both cases normals on backrest are inverted. Couldn't find any place in legacy cmesh proxy loader that could be causing this. Do you by any chance have the object from which you have created the cmesh proxy? Would it be possible to share the original scene you couldn't render?

Thanks,
Robin

Are you still having this issue? Have you tried latest Corona 1.3 release candidate? Can you provide us with minidump?

Hi Ben,

thanks for reporting this! I can confirm that the issue is there and when you make the lines so thick it's quite apparent. We will fix this in daily build somewhere after 1.3.

Cheers,
Robin

There were some problems with using displacement on non-manifold geometry in 1.2.x. It was producing artefacts and so we have put some sanitization into displacement that fixed it. If you have access to the latest 1.3 RC could you just give it a shot on this particular scene? If it still happens, can you give us the scene so we can fix it (simplified if possible)?

Thanks,
Robin
