are some of your assets linked to an external hard drive?

It happens when rendering is still in progress.

If it is freezing the steps to generate a minidump from that (just as if it was a crash) are on the linked page -

"When the error message appears, or during the freeze, run the Process Explorer, find "3dsmax.exe" process, select it and go to Process > Create Dump > Create Minidump... then save the file in a desired location and upload it to us. The preferred contact channel is our support portal. You can host your minidump using our uploader and let us know what's the file name."

The minidump would still be pretty critical for diagnosing your issue, so if you could follow the steps on that page, that would be great, ty!

I bet this one is nothing but the B&G render end bug of current dailies which can be avoided by just switching away from the Post tab.

Good Luck

Yep, we have a bug which freezes 3ds Max when rendering is stopped during bloom and glare calculation. This is reported and will be fixed ASAP.

This should have been fixed in the daily build on the 11th of February.

Please let me know if it is still happening.

Thanks,

Rowan
