[Max] General Discussion / Re: sRGB mode

the automatic gamma in max 2014 should handle this

Conservation through standard automatic mode works correctly. Corona autosave does not save with gamma 1 simply uses its own gamma VFB

What happens if you use the regular VFB from 3dsmax?

That's just I work in 2014 Max and do not work in the automatic mode for 32 bit files. Corona autosave writes with a gamma of 2.2

may be save openexr with overrided gamma? (in save dialog)

The concept is simple! Somehow I slipped my mind that there is a mode while maintaining override, thanks man, sent to the right path)))

[Max] General Discussion / sRGB mode
« on: 2013-12-18, 12:55:49 »
hello everyone
Please tell me , how do I make it so that would result in rendering VFB displayed with gamma 2.2 ( by default ) but write OpenEXR file for compositing with gamma 1. In Vray I used in the settings of color mapping ( do not use ... ) and display mode sRGB, to display the result with a gamma of 2.2
So I get the original file with gamma 1 and opening it in AE or Nuke, it displays correctly , and in the case of the Corona he writes a file with gamma 2.2 and it turns into double conversion compositing . How to make a save with gamma 1 and the map in the VFB, mode sRGB mode ?

Yet I found the source of this bug )
They were portals in the windows as soon as I hid them, this strange effect on the walls disappeared, only in this case the room was noticeably darker, but it is fixable by exposure)

ok, then this is probably caused by a bug I've already fixed. The next stable release should work fine

tried a lot of things:

Bake procedural textures
Changed for different HDRI environment
HDRI changed on Corona sky
Hidden geometry curtains
Reset Xform geometry walls and smoothing groups
Turn off all the lights except for the environment
Changed the types of glass on the door (it was thought that some caustic curve of the glass in the door)

And nothing helped, this bug has remained on the walls (

until there is no more any thoughts about possible causes, so that the only hope for you)))
and when will the next stable version? )

That's what the texture found in the settings, do not know how this parameter has been changed, but maybe it could serve as such a reaction?

does the wall have bump or any other texture?

Yes, I have stuff on the walls with a bump. My stuff was done using standard procedural maps and a bitmap texture, perhaps the crown is not entirely correct understands them?

Stuff on the walls looks like this:

Strange spots on the geometry. Quite incomprehensible nature of these spots. Maybe there is this explanation?

Alpha 5

[Max] General Discussion / Re: AutoSave path

just the name, and optionally path. Extension is added automatically - .exr

Wow, it works and is very convenient. Now I would like to have in addition to this, the ability to continue rendering from the end point, roughly a Maxwell render. It is simply gorgeous and very comfortable.

Just the way, the name and extension?
Thanks, I'll try )

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Emission points on the fabric

Model curtains without errors, but it can be seen in terms of emissions or the environment.
At first I used a small displacement on the curtains, 5 mm and thought the problem in displacement.
But when I turned it off, the problem remained. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in the materials, but I think I have a pretty ordinary stuff.

Surprised because tried very hard to render the scene using high polygonal models nested in Forest Paсk and it was all excellent. The working draft is not spent more than 10GB, the total number of geometry when it was approximately 7-8 billion polygons

Please tell me how it works and where it autosave defaul saves in what format? whether it is possible to assign the format autosave and specify its path? ( Sorry for the Google translation)

I would like to know the material parpmetr Emission Corona has specific units or now everything is measured in "parrots"? Thanks in advance for your reply.
