Alright, thanks!

I'll check this out.

I'm certain he'll tell me you're wrong, but I trust you 100% so I'll press him on this!

Ah, I see he's already changed it to: Kingston DDR5 Fury Beast Black 64GB(2x32GB)/5600 CL40

Better?

(Your knowledge is simply amazing, Juraj. I cannot begin to comprehend how this has all not only been amassed but retained!)

Yep, we are aware of the patterns - I say patterns as we do know there is more than one thing going on.

TRX50, well, all Threadrippers (X and WX alike) now require Registered Memory modules same as Epyc. So that listed memory will not work.

There seems to be a pattern here with high core/thread machines -see my threadripper post. My cinnebench scores were great on a 64 core machine and disappointing real world performance with corona 11...

Thanks Aram.

Flickering gets worst with Path tracing in both primary and secundary.
Attached a test (notice how the flicekring only occurs in the water. The stone areas are flicker-free.

Sorry to go a little off-topic here;

I'm just ordering a new PC and the following components have been selected by my guy.

I've already decided to upgrade to RTX 4070 12GB and use water-cooling (LIQTECH TR4 II Series 360mm Liquid CPU Cooler) instead of the air-cooling listed

Any thoughts? Anything I should be weary of?

Thanks!

The thread above has a reply for this issue as well, but is for general 3ds Max UI sluggishness, with or without the combination of Corona.

This will be the specific thread for this issue, as a bug report (for the sake of finding it better) - scene has slower viewport performance with Corona 11 than Corona 10.

Hello Aram,

I just wanted to confirm that I tested my problematic scene with Corona 11 HF2 in both 3ds Max 2022 and 2024, and it seems that the problem is now resolved. The viewport behaves smoothly.
Thank you and the entire Corona Renderer team for listening and support.

Best Regards

@besto
did HF2 solved your issue?

TY for the additional information! Have to admit without looking too closely (because after all I am fixated on the beautiful car!) the person looked very consistent to me :)

Glad it helped! I did install a water cooling solution myself, again prebuilt so it was just putting in place in the machine, and all was well, just an additional bit of reassurance ;)
