Hi folks,

I just wanted to post a little living room I just modeled. The table and chairs once were welded in our university / our metalworkers studio, because I didn´t have the money / didn´t find furniture, corresponding to those, I had in my mind.
Now they are in my flat and quite heavy and I always wanted to try rendering them.
Just 60 passes but it took around 13 hours with a 4770k.
I hope you like them. There is no postprocessing so you are all totally welcome for tips how I can tune the look and feel of the picture :-)

Kind regards.

Well done!!! I hope Fredster is right, what a great product and super community behind it.
I can´t imagine which pressure must have fallen from your shoulders. Congratulations!

Really good choice of colors! I like the 2nd picture a lot. "Anthony Hopkins" gives it a warm and little ironic touch.
Did you model this ceiling light yourself or is there any possibility to buy / download it somewhere. I was searching for some
similar light by Holly Hunt https://www.hollyhunt.com/ShowProduct.aspx?ProductID=8819&ManufacturerID=29

Really nice work!!!

Great wood textures and elegant!
But why does this remind me to another project I really liked...

First of all I also have to say, really well done exterior.
In my opinion, making an exterior is one of the crowning disciplines in corona, so I am glad to see how crisp it looks on the whole.

For the topic of blurry textures and filtering, I am unsure concerning some of your rocks if it is just a question of filtering.
I could be wrong, but if it is not the right uvw mapping, which is difficult by such a geometry, the textures gets stretched and blurred.

I am a big fan of Aaron Dabelow´s free tools. Maybe the Lazy UVW Editor easily can fix that.

This is amazing! A really nice contrast between old and new materials. Not only plushy also very elegant... the exhibition looks cozy!

Isn´t it an ocean? Just joking, but these days I asked myself if just better textures would help while rendering exteriors in corona.
The interiors are 80% brilliant, and the style is not seldom just beautiful. But what is with these exteriors? Does anybody have samples of good corona exteriors? Is ist possible? The only example for a really well done exterior was the Icelandic coastal house from Juraj. But if I compare it to his amazing townhouse extension I have to realize, that the image is not that crisp as the townhouse images. ( The townhouse is made with Vray, I think)

I know there have been discussions about that topic, but this picture demonstrates me quite well, that very often corona exteriors appear a little bit palish and ailing.

I love interiors with corona and the engine made me doing interiors much faster then in Vray and they have done so many things right and more intuitiv , but am I wrong with my assumption concerning exteriors ? ( I hope so !)

I am not sure if a "one button solution" for downloading the complete content would be the right way. Nobody would discover the single shaders and might not vote for the better ones, which makes it easier for other users to separate good and not so overwhelming quality.

About the site itself I can say, that I learned a lot with these shaders, because I can figure out how others handled problems or sometimes giving confirmation that my way of creating the shader ist right, my lighting settings just were wrong.

So thanks for the CML Website :-)

Thanks for the fast answer, I attached the screenshot with the problematic mapping options.

When I click the "object" option and change one of these values, Max crashes.

Because I needed older wood, I changed to classic phototextures, but I think the bercon maps would have a lot of potential for avoiding any seams or the basic problems of grain- cut timber in direct combination of horizontal timber. I know this is also possible with normal textures, but I like the way this guy is dealing with the maps:

I also attached the scene from a house in austria, I wanted to use the bercon maps for.

Hi there, wow my first post... :-)

Even if this does´t fit in this corner of the forum, but from day to day I become a bigger fan of corona.
I am as most of the others a Vray-dude but with Corona it feels like Tiptronic (not simple automatic) compared to "manual gear shifting".

But the reason for this post is another. Did anybody try to vary the "mapping transform/variance" in wood?

To get the real wood appearance there is a need for enough little differences the nature gives to us.
BUT when I try to play mama nature 3ds Max 2014 crashes.

Without these settings everything works well. The rendering with corona works, but the texture looks not that great as it could/should.

I think these problems have been fixed in the 2015 version but the 2013 is untouched and has a creation date of 15/04/2012 .

I am just a render "one-track specialist"  but no programmer. Is anybody able to fix it for corona in combination for max 2014 ( 2013 should be the same problem i guess)

Thank you in advance and thanks for corona!!!
