VDB
Hello.
I can not find VDB supporting in: https://trello.com/b/dgI8vjDb/corona-road-map-cinema-4d
Is it because VDB already supported inside cinema r20?

OpenVDB is not supported yet (that's the CoronaVolumeGrid object in 3ds Max). It is logged in our internal tracker, but no timeframe for when it might be done yet. Once a timeframe is decided on, it will show up on the roadmap there :)

Thanks for reply, and for the great render!!
Corona pretty fast, simple, and gives stunning  results. I think it can be used in VFX.
Sory, if i write something wrong.. (English not native)

No time frame yet, the roadmap would be the place to watch. As a note, we are looking into possible improvements to OpenVDB in the Corona core (e.g. better overlapping of VDB objects, which currently is an issue) so we may not see any work done on moving this across until the core has had any updates (rather than work on porting something that is already undergoing improvements, may be best to wait til the improvements are done and working).

I'm thinking to buy the new X-Particles 4, but I will only do it if Corona supports it. But I'm glad that you will work on it.

Nope, VDB is still not supported. We do however support volumetric shaders in the newest daily build, so you can try that out at least!

Yep, it would be really awesome to have openVDB support sooner than later. As of me, that's the feature I am waiting for the most.

Yes, VDB is a big one, X-particles rendering with corona would be awesome, X-particles is one of the reasons people stick with C4D or choose an external renderer, you should get in touch with them they are really helpful!

Been a few more months. just thought i'd give this a bump. I use it a lot in Max. But i work with a bunch of C4D guys. I'm getting tired of saying "sorry, but it doesn't exist in C4D yet" (and i'm sure they're getting tired of hearing it).

Hi! OpenVDB is on the roadmap for Corona 6, as the CoronaVolumeGrid (same as in Max) - https://trello.com/c/5TINlgLd/88-corona-volume-grid. No date yet as to when it might be in the daily builds though.

There is a future plan with no fixed date or version, which would be to see if it would be possible (or even useful) to support the native C4D VDB. It could be irrelevant once the Corona Volume Grid is there, since you could just load your VDB files into that.
