[Max] I need help! / Re: Normal map + Displacement
« on: 2015-12-02, 00:15:57 »
Thank you for your reply. This is what i thought. Normal for finest details. It's a 14.000.000 poly object. at level 7. I got it a 3.400.000 polys. and it moves ok.

[Max] I need help! / SSS Pancake
« on: 2015-12-01, 23:56:38 »
Hello,

I am trying to achive a puffy pancake look, but all i get is a stone pancake. I don't seem to be able to control SSS. A value of 1 cm looks the same as a value of 1000 cm.
The  object is at scale. But the geometry intersects inside. Maybe this is the issue? I made a mask to define the area i want to have sss. It seems to work with translucency but the effect is not usable. Does anybody can offer me an ideea? How can i make sss fuzzy  ? control the density? anything? I found a material in vray that has 3 sss layers. Does this works with corona layers?

Hello.

I am trying to bring some fine details in. Considering i have a zbrush tool with a level of 7 , what is the correct approach?

A. Level 5 mesh + level 6 normal + level 7 displacement
or
B Level 5 mesh + level 6 displacement + level 7 normal

Hello again,

i was really hoping i will find some intelligent answers here. As i said in my first post, i am interested in rational explanations, from people that have scientific education, like architects or mathematicians. I was hoping that maybe we can get together and make a simulation, to see if the flat horizontal line can be debunked. Or to test how the moon should really look when lighted by the sun, and other theories that appear in this flat earth paradigm. I was sincere, and i find the Dihydrogen Monoxide joke to be not so funny. I could really use a good, rational, scientific explanation of the heliocentric model, which can be understood by a non-scientific person like me.  The only thing i can verify with my own eyes is that indeed, the horizon is flat and the moon  does not look like a illuminated sphere but like a disk.

I guess i'll have to try to do it myself, build a model and render it in corona. I should get the same results as in reality right ?

Hello guys,

let me start by admitting i have no science knowledge. I'am just a simple designer. I open this topic here, because i trust many of you are maybe engineers or architects, and i hope somebody here will be able to easy my mind, because right now, i simply don't know what to believe. Do you guys know anything about this topic? Can anyone here debunk this ?

[Max] I need help! / Re: [solved] Realistic snow in Corona

This snow is insane!
Can i ask how did u make the vector displacement? Is it zbrush noise? Did u sculpt it in zbrush and than exported or is procedural noise ? I'm quite noobie, so please explain if you wish. Thank  you.

Than you very much for your answer!

Is using ies lights the same with building an actual projector?.

[Max] I need help! / video mapping
« on: 2015-10-28, 06:22:46 »
Hello,

i would like to do a video mapping simulation. Project an video on a car, and rotate the camera around the car. I am a newbie in this field, and i read a lot of info about projectors and lenses and perspective, but it kind of confuses me. I don't understand a lot of stuff :(. I would like to ask for help, if you guys are kind enough to explain some stuff to me. My projects it's just a simulation. I doesn't have to be applied later in real life.

So, my question is, If i just use a coronalightmtl, with a texture and 1.0 direction, is this correct? I already tried and it kind of works, but i'm not sure it's what happens in real video mapping. I think what i get it's just the reflection ( i use a car as the geometry to project on to, and it has reflective material). Do i have to model a projector lens?

How do i proceed with this. Does anyone knows a tutorial, or can give me some hints?
Thank you !

[Max] Daily Builds / Re: Daily Builds
« on: 2015-10-23, 15:27:20 »
Hello,

wazz up with this ?

Spherical light renders as a cube.

Corona version: 1.3 DailyBuild Oct 21 2015

can I have the scene?

I have deleted most of the geometry in the scene and the light is spherical now. It seems it's related to this particular scene. It's kind of  heavy (8.393.246)  with lots of layers and shapes, with cad imported layers. I'll try to fix it, and let u know.

Will LayeredMtl have a additive layer blending mode like in maxwell?

[Max] I need help! / please help me understand proxy
« on: 2015-05-06, 23:39:45 »
Hello,

i don't really understand proxy, so if anyone can answer my question, please :)

i have a lot of chairs, hundreds. the chairs are already placed, and are identical, but i need to optimize the scene because it's too heavy. my questions is, how should i use proxy to do that?

1. should i select all the chairs that are in the scene, export them as a multiple proxy, delete all  the objects and than place it as a corona proxy?
2 or should i export one chair, as a proxy, delete the object, and than replace manually every geometry chair, with a clone of the original proxy?

i think both way are possible, but i don't know which one is correct. If anyone can help me with this, i thank you ! :)
