Title: *SOLVED - USER ERROR :) Light material not appearing in reflection

I've used a light material on some geometry to make a nice glow in a downlighter - there may be more efficient ways to get this outcome :)

The problem is that it doesn't appear in the mirror. Non light materials appear fine.

The light is an instance.

Easy to sort it in post, but be good to know if I am doing something wrong or if this is a bug/feature.

Worked in a quick test here - you don't have visibility in reflections turned off for the LightMtl? No Directionality value for the LightMtl? (though the latter would make it appear black / dark rather than just not there, I think).

Curiouser and curiouser :)

I cut the scene down and now I can't see the light at all in the reflection!

Have attached file. I'm sure I must have turned something off accidentally, but I've checked in all the usual places and I can't find anything wrong.

Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees, and that is just when the community comes in to help :) Had the same thing way back when I was a programmer, just going and talking to someone else was great for solving something that seemed like a complete puzzle. Glad you got it working!

Yep, it's a great community, full of talented and skillful people without egos who are happy to help out other artists.

Reminds me of good old days of Silo and Subdivisionmodelling forums :)
