Work in Progress/Tests / First WIP with Corona for C4D
« on: 2015-02-11, 08:39:17 »
Hey,

yesterday I finally had enough spare time to try corona on something personal and not confidetial work related!

Inspiration came from a beautiful house featured on archdaily (http://www.archdaily.com/596147/bolton-residence-naturehumaine/) and i used some models and altered materials from the free CoronaC4D test scene.

I'd be very glad about comments and especially constructive criticism. :)

Regards,
Flo

(Made with Cinema4D, rendered in 15h on 2 x Xeon E5507)

Hi Flo,

Thanks for your reply, I downloaded that scene. If I may ask, What was your render time for that scene?

Regards,

George

You're welcome!
i just did a quick 20 minute test render of that scene using all default settings from the scene
render-stats can be seen in the stamp in the lower right corner of the rendered image.

Regards,
Flo

Hi all. first time using Corona render. I'm a C4D user. I selected the render, added a sun and camera, did nothing else. Clicked render. 11 minutes in and on 25th pass. Just wondering if other users are finding the render slow. For vray we had a test scene to test render times. Is there such a thing for corona for C4D?

Seems slow,

Regards,

George

Hey George,

in the original launch-blog-post for corona c4d, there was sort of a test scene included, provided by Thomas Vournazos.
https://corona-renderer.com/blog/corona-c4d-a1-1/

It's a basic interior scene with dome and sun lighting, producing pretty good render times for me on 2 2,27GHz Xeons.

Flo

Hello Antonio,

try stopping the render right before max. time or samples are reached - i encountered a problem where the alpha channel was overwritten right at the end with a blank black alpha, which obviously leads toa blank .png / .tiff.

I hope this works for you as it does for me!
