Vertex Map with displacement

Should the displacement from a material fade out with a vertex map?

I have a base material on an object and another material stacked in C4D - vertex map faded the diffuse out as expected on the top material - but its displacement affected the lower material beyond the vertex map. Not sure if this is expected behaviour?

Only one material tag can have displacement - the first one. But you can use a layer shader in your first material and blend them as you want.

But I hope this will be supported in the future :)
