@stereo,

Could you tell me what you tweaked on the hardware setup to gain an increase of 32 seconds? I assume it's only an overclocking of the CPU, but if not I'd like to know what else it could be.

Thanks

scanline>maxwell>mentalray>corona

I never bothered to try using Vray, cuz I didn't see any benefit of using it for the renderquality. The only thing Mental Ray lacks IMHO is rendertimes\setup for interiors and some buggy things I've encountered.

When trying Corona the simplicity (especially interior rendering) was phenomonal and the fast previews and tweaking while rendering are a great timesaver. I know MR is developing too, but they slowed it down dramatically when trying to integrate Iray when Nvidia jumped on the board.
Seeing the rapid bugfixes and the plans for the future, Corona is my no 1 renderer at the moment and sincerely hope texture-baking will be on the implementation list too :)

I'm on the board for this one too. For an nearby future I think it'll be a crucial thing to have under the hood.

Hi there,

I restyled the gardenhouse interior with some new furniture, textures and lighting condition. I think it gives a nice overall atmosphere and it's time to move over to some other scenes I wanna make with Corona.

Comments would be kindly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi there,

The scene looks very convincing although a bit dull. Perhaps you can add some spotlights, color variation and a different camera-angle to spice it up a bit

I notice a bright white line underneath the glass frames probably being scattered by the glass. It almost looks like some caustics effect. Can you clarify this by telling what lighting setup you've used or perhaps someone else who can clarify this behaviour?

Instead of chamfering you can also use the "round edges" option in the shader setting of your material.

A detail of an image with some curves adjustments.

This is the first time I didn't need any AO pass to "thicken" the image, kinda cool to see Corona fits this in perfectly!

Hi there,

Garden house fashion here at the moment !
Cool and clean renders fellazb. Maybe you could work a lot on some wood textures and on the vegetation in the background.

Wood textures and shaders could indeed be improved, but my main purpose was to see how Corona distributes light in a natural way. Seeing other renders I noticed how nicely vegetation is being casted with Corona, as far as these renders are I think they are also okay, the placement and variaty of the vegetation could indeed be improved.
Hi Fellazb

nice to meet you on this forum!!
I am looking forward to see more of your work.

Hey Belly, I noticed we almost at the same time got note of Corona and was pleasantly surprised with your renders posted on the Dutch forum. I'd also like to see more work from you and perhaps we can share some knowledge.

Hi there,

This is a proposal for a gardenhouse I've designed lately. It's actually an extension of a countryhouse, but was a perfect opportunity to have a go at Corona renderer. Amazing how light is being translated with that little of twisting on knobs and values, it feels perfectly natural and hope these images show it off.

Everything is pretty straightforward being lit by a HDRI and one or two corona lights for the daytime shot and about nine corona lights for the night shots. PT+HD with rendertimes varying from one hour to three or so at 1920x1080.

Hi there,

First post here on this forum, so I'd first like to thank you guys for making this render-engine. It's definitely rockin'!

To add something to this thread I'd like to point out this plugin I found recently and it contains a lot of features requested here. Perhaps it's something to look into. Unfortunately it doesn't work interactively with Corona (only after stopping the render), but shouldn't be that hard to implement I guess.

Happy rendering everyone, Corona makes it really addictive.
