Yes, you are right... the catterpillar is a little MONSTER.

Wow, I really like the surroundings (ground and plants) I'm not completely convinced by the catterpliiar though, it seems a bit flat/dull. I think the colours can be made a bit more vivid. check these:

This time I just played around with displacement...


Video is blown up a bit with some small cc in AFX.
The render time is very nice for that orgy of displacement in my opionion.

I am finding difficult creating a vegetation material using just textures and not materials for each side of the surface.

For the caterpillar I used PT+HDC, for the displacement test it was PT+PT.
