[C4D] General Discussion / mac studio / mac pro m2 ultra
« on: 2023-06-15, 18:46:33 »
hi corona users
i'm still running a maxed out mac pro from 2010 (5.1) at home > 12c, 3.46ghz, 128gb ram.
but as apple released a new version of the mac studio and finally the new mac pro, i'm suggesting to buy a new apple computer. rather a mac studio than a mac pro.

it would be nice to get some real world benchmarks in this thread. does anybody already have the mac studio m2 ultra on his/her desk and can share some infos about working in the viewport, maybe some render times and other important facts?

@corona-team: i guess corona benchmark v2 (optimized for apple silicon) is just around the corner?

thanks for your inputs and thoughts. i'm curious what y'all have to share in the near future. :o)

[C4D] I need help! / rigged person / motion blur
« on: 2021-08-29, 13:46:31 »
hello y'all

i'm trying to put a 3d-person (rigged) into an architectural scene. with a longer shutter speed, the person should become unsharp (motion blurred).
i did a test scene only with the person walking > see attached file.

i can't get it to work, the person is always sharp no matter what shutter speed is chosen. maybe i'm too dumb or it simply doesn't work with corona renderer?
i thank you for your help in advance.

[C4D] Feature Requests / dirt (streaks) like vray 5
« on: 2020-11-14, 10:45:20 »
hi all
i just watched a video on youtube about vray 5 and dirt map...

most of my 3d-work is architecture. dirty concrete is something i use regularely, especially making dirt steaks. at the moment i always end up to add them in photoshop manually.
i'm aware of "ambient occlusion" as a solution, but it is just not the same. vray dirt seems to be much more powerful and realistic.

question to the developers:
are there any thoughts about implementing this feature in the future?
when can we expect something similar in corona renderer to get same results?

thanks in advance & stay safe/healthy

[C4D] Feature Requests / uvw tiling randomization in v6?
« on: 2020-06-05, 16:11:27 »
hello corona-team & users
will "uvw tiling randomization" (see roadmap 3dsmax on trello) be features in v6 for c4d, too?

greetings, prince_jr

[C4D] Feature Requests / LUT-list
« on: 2020-03-20, 11:15:03 »
Hi corona users & devs

I came across something in the vfb. I don't know if it is a bug or just knowingly not programmed.
The LUT-list is unsorted > please see attached image.

If it's no bug...it would be really nice (in upcoming versions) to have...
1.  ...a sorted list
2.  ...the whole lut-name displayed (filename too long)

I thank y'all very much in advance.
By the way...stay safe and strong! #coronavirus

Gallery / Gipsoteca Revisited

GIPSOTECA REVISITED

Hi everyone

I'd like to share my first personal project with you, using corona v5 and c4d.
Everything except the background (environment/sky) is rendered. Plaster models found on stlfinder.

I hope you like my work so far.
Comments are welcome. ;o)

[C4D] I need help! / wire shader
« on: 2020-03-01, 18:50:28 »
Hi all
I tried to render a scene only with a wire shader (cinema 4d = diffuse channel > plugins > corona > wire)

No matter which options I choose the result isn't satifying. it seems, either option "world units" nor "pixels", gives a constant thickness of the wire.
> see attached pictures for comparison

I know it's physically correct that the wire gets thinner (room depth).
But is there a possibility to have all wires in the same thickness (from front to back)?

Thank you for all your inputs.

[Max] Feature Requests / color histogramm
« on: 2020-03-01, 09:28:25 »
it would be nice to have a color histogram in vfb & corona image editor.
it's really helpful to detect blown out area in rendered images.
any intentions to implement this feature in the near future?

[C4D] I need help! / interactive viewport & shifted cameras
« on: 2020-01-09, 23:05:22 »
hi everyone
i came across a strange behavior, when using interactive viewport (c4d r21, mac high sierra) and shifted camera.
no matter which settings (use render/selected view) are active, it isn't showing the exact shifted camera view. the view is moved horizontally. "film offset x" is kinda messed up
> see attached images

does anybody having the same issue?
thx for your inputs

[C4D] I need help! / imperfections on edges
« on: 2020-01-02, 15:32:01 »
hi to everone, and happy new year!

i don't know if there is already a topic for this...
i want to add some imperfections to edges of an object for a close-up render. for example a concrete wall, where the cement is missing in some places (broken off)
> see attached image.

1. i tried to solve it with a texture in the bump slot of round edges
    > didn't work very well / it wasn't satisfying enough, as far iim searching for a realistic look.

2. i tried to solve it with a displacement map and beveled edges.
    > the problem here is...the height of the displacement is the same on both, surface and beveled edge.
    > would be nice if there is a way to handle displacement separately. one slot for surface, one for edges ;o)

back to my request...
is there any way to accomplish this?

i thank you for your help and inputs.

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Ambient Occlusion
« on: 2019-12-16, 18:57:11 »
ambient occlusion is not working properly or at all, i guess. it only creates a small amount on the edge. no matter how high i set the "max. distance".
i did everything as it is supposed to do (helpdesk and tutorials)

does anybody have an idea or similar problems?

system: mac pro 5.1 (mid 2010, 2x 3.46ghz-6 core), 128gb ram
software: macos 10.13.6, c4d r21, corona renderer 5 for c4d
