See attached. Unticked the box and material still renders.

I dont see a problem here - what material should render instead of that one?

None. See what happens with VRay with the yellow material in the multi-sub mat checkbox unticked.

Should it matter? I thought once that is unticked the material simply doesn't render?

SC of texture.

It should behave like my reply #2

The second image shows the unticked material not rendering. This means anything with ID2 (Unchecked in multi sub material options) with any applied texture, then it will not render once that option is unchecked in the Multisub object material. I was trying to disable oil that was inside a bottle and wanted that ID not to render but in Corona it appears no matter what.

I don't use Vray, but in MR an untucked material will render black.

Corona renders the green part of the box, altough it's disabled.

I have seen similar behavior, it seems to be an issue with how max hands of the materials to corona.
Instead of using the tick box, just unplug the Connection in Slate. The Material wont render anymore, just like you wanted, with no additional workaround.
Seems to be a legitimate bug.

You're dead right. It prints black. The scene I was testing in was with a blank scene setup I use for my assets. The environment is black with a HDR in the corona environment slot so I didn't see it shown in the render. But it might be nice if the default behaviour of Corona didn't print the ploys where that ID material was turned off.

That's okay if you don't clear the slate editor in my case. Next time you eye drop the material the material will be missing. So not that good of a workaround I don't think but I'm sure keymaster will sort something out.

That's true I suppose, I use a "slightly" different workflow :]

I'd say your render queue for slate set is tidy ;)

It's basicly a technique to lie to myself, how much I accomplished.
I go like "holy shit thats a lot of boxes and lines I made", keeps me motivated :D
