[C4D] I need help! / How to load opacity from Alphachannel

Hi all,

Cinema 4D native material identifies an images alphachannel, when placed in the textureslot in the Alpha-Section of the material.

How can I achieve this in Corona materials? When loading an image with alpha channel (RGBA) into opacity I get the opacity of the RGB not of the A.

Hi!

There are two ways to interpret normal maps (Y up or Y down) and it is very hard to identify what kind of normal map ons has. You guys always say "flip Y", but this seems not always right.

I there a way to implement something in corona helping finding out what normal map is used?

it would be nice to have the possibility to restrict the AO- and the wire-shader with the phong-angle.

Hi all!

I cannot get any good results creating a carbon fiber material.

I tried several map sets from f.e. Textures.com. What I am missing is this depth in the material. My RL sample looks so 3 dimensional, almost like an optical illusion.

I use normal maps, anisotropic rotation and clearcoat layer, but I am not satisfied with any result.

The VRScan carbon material does not work since I have no UVs on my model

Any suggestions?

The Scene converter shows the number of objects to convert (which are lights) but does not convert them to corona lights

R19, R2023.1, win 10, corona 9

Hi all,

I was searching for that topic but could not find any, so I am opening this thread:

I mentioned that the "send to c4d" button in the vfb opens the c4d-pictureviewer, but the rendering is not sent to it. Just a blank window. Corona 9 and 2023.1.

It works in R19 an Corona 9

Hi all!

I mentioned, that Corona Lights are not affected by the "visible in editor-traffic-light" any more. One can turn the visibibity to "off" and the light is still affecting the scene.

Hi all!

Is there a way to restrict AO or dirt only to be affected by the positive normal orientation?

I mention that objects from "behind", from the inside, affect the AO, which gives wrong results. Hard to explain. Imagine placing a cube intersecting another cube and the faces are closer than the AO radius is. Then the complete invisible inside geometry is affecting the AO...

Hi all!

I still have problems to find nice even eterior lighting.

With the new aces, I was hoping for better results. My pics are always to contrasty but decreasing contrast in tonemapping panel is not the solution. With the new clouds one has a pretty good reference for a realistic brightness of the sky. But then everything on the ground ist too dark.

Are we still talking about 70% for a clean white? Or has this guide changed?
Shouldn't standard settings in tonemapping panel result in a good picture?
Are all these nice pics on the internet done in post?

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Scene looses sun

Hi all!

While playing with Corona 9 RC1 I mentioned, that the sun object sometimes get lost. While setting up nice lighting for an exterior scene (sun, sky, tonemapping) suddenly the sun is not rendered. No way to get it back. Had to replace the sun.

Hi all!

Since I am in the new physical material, all of my (non-metallic) materials seem to be extremely shiny.

I decrease IOR to about 1.1 - 1.2 on materials which usually have an IOR of 1.4 - 1.5, like plastics, glass, and so on.

Is it possible, that the IOR is not working correctly?
