Do you guys know a good script (3ds max) that could be used to randomize the position of the texture in my uv maps? Could be useful to make dirt maps more random on a bunch of similar objects.
I've tried 2-3 scripts that could offset the texture but they lacked options imo. There must be something out there more efficient, even if I need to buy it. Thanks!

BEst randomizer I've founded so far:

You'll need to detach elements in your object, which could be done with another script from Neill Blevins object detacher from soulburn scripts pack

Thank You I'll check it out. In the meantime I've found http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/random-uvw-gizmotm and it works very well. It even generate the uvmap for you!

So you need uv offset randomisation in maps or uv map randomisation on models itself? Those too are different things, although output is very similar.

On objects. For example, I'm doing the Neue National Galerie museum and the roof is made of a ton of steel blocks. I want each block to have different looking dirt/leaks/scratches textures. So I'll use a script to offset the uv's position, maybe even scale it a little bit, etc.

Then there's tons of scripts that does that. To add to what's already posted, i like this mass randomizer: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/mass-randomizer and of course Neil Blevin's wonderful scoluburn script pack: http://www.neilblevins.com/cg_tools/scripts/3dsmax/soulburnscripts.htm

I personally use polyunwrapper (http://www.polytools3d.com/polyunwrapper/)
It has a bunch of really nice tools including randomization for position, rotation and scale.
Its not for free though...
