Hey Guys.

I'm goofing around with the Caustics solver and i have gotten this problem.

I get a weird faceting effect on my displaced sphere. The geometry should be dense enough with Turbosmooth, and i even tried setting displacement settings to screensize 1.

It seems to be coming from my caustics.

Does anyone know a solution?

Had a discussion with some friends about pathtracing.

From what i understand the 'Brute force' GI method as seen in V-ray is not the same as Pathtracing.
I believe brute force is more biased and is doing more adaptations and casting fewer rays than Pathtracing.
Where BF might cast 10s of rays from a surface point in a random direction, PT will cast thousands.

I might be wrong though.

Is BF+BF a true pathtracer in V-ray?

Can someone help us? :)

After 1 hours, it's not even done with initial render pass.
And for some reasons it's only shooting 36k Rays, whereas normally it shoots around 1.5/2 million rays when rendering.

My rendersettings in 1080p


The materials are nothing special
The crystals is just a refractive with some bump and dispersion. No caustics
The rock got some displacement to it, but nothing too heavy.

My hardware is fine, and it runs fine in other scenes.

Is there any way to use multiple HDRIs environments maps for lighting up an object?

Then i could control the light from each hdri with lightmixer in post.

If not, the solution must be to make multiple renders and then blend them together in photoshop afterwards, but it would be nice if I could it in 1 render.

Hey guys,

Im new to corona coming from V-ray.

I'm trying to create some microscratch swirl marks on my material, like in this video

I've found this tutorial how to make it in V-ray, but can't seem to recreate it in Corona.
