Feature request:

Corona render slave (node) on Linux

>when main PC operating system is Windows, but render node is with installed Linux only and proper tool to provide distributed rendering.
Linux is free, so buying computer and then installing Linux is more affordable than buying expensive Windows licenses.

Yep, Linux version planned. But I don't know is DR compatibility with Windows master machine planned.

linux support is one thing, but DR 3dsmax->standalone is something else. There will always be some limitations

mac is almost done, linux can follow soon, because most of the work was already done

Has there been any progress on this? Will this be ready for the 1.5 release? I only ask because it's not listed on the Trello road map page.

Another follow up question: what is the intended workflow for rendering on Linux? Would we be able to write out files using Corona that describe the scene, then render those scene files? Like how Arnold writes out .ass files and then Arnold renders those files.

yes, it will work in that way, although it will certainly not be included in 1.5 release, only later. It is currently not our priority
