Hi everyone,

I have a fire in my scenes using VDBs via Corona Volume Grid. I can open the file with 3ds max 2023 quickly. Whereas opening with 3ds max 2024 it gets stuck at various "Loading corona Asset" percentages, and it would be stuck there for hours until I force close 3ds max. I'm using Corona 10 for both.

anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

[Max] I need help! / Re: Scene parsing issues
« on: 2021-11-12, 13:52:34 »
Hi Maru,

I'm using Max 2022 and Corona 7 Hotfix 1. Yes i'm using alot of plugins. RAM Usage is in the low 60s

I've added a screenshot of the rendering popup i meant. That disappears when parse scene task completes.

When it is stuck like this, please capture 2-3 minidump files and send them to us. Here is a guide explaining how to do it (see point 2):
https://support.corona-renderer.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402983255313-How-to-report-issues-3ds-Max-#h_01FDY55JCQMR188S36A1F0SS1T

It may be because i clicked outside of max (on a browser or another app) but it sometimes happen when i have nothing on apart from max.
I'll send you the minidump file next time it happens.

[Max] Bug Reporting / Re: endless parsing scene

Same thing happening with my colleagues and I. Sometimes Corona crashes after scene parsing and we'd have to close and load max again.

Hi Guys,

I have 2 problem when rendering now. The first is after i press render, corona parses the scene, and when it's done corona just stops (Smiley face stops spinning) and the current task popup disappears. In the VFB the render button is greyed out and it cannot be stopped.

The second problem is after pressing render, as corona parses the scene, it gets stuck. it doesn't go past to the next task. it can stay in the parse scene task for hours. until i click on 3ds max and it finishes parse, secondary GI and goes immediately to start the passes as if nothing was wrong. It doesn't happen all the time but frequent enough to be ridiculous. Imagine having to sit in front of a computer as it renders an animation to make sure it doesn't get stuck parsing one of the frames.

anybody have a clue what's going on here?

We have a workaround: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=34859.msg202882#msg202882

[Scatter] Feature Requests / Re: Improved Corona Scatter
« on: 2021-09-30, 09:48:20 »
Awesome, i guess it would be great if you guys add:

- Something like FP's Area Tab. using splines or objects to determine inclusion or exclusion areas.
- Boundary Checking
- Better Falloff Settings
- allow spline distribution in vertex positions.
- Item editor. to manually add a certain object on the surface or to move it around.
- material tab. with Colour tint settings.

I think if you have these in the next update there'll be less need to use forest pack.

Hi,

With Forest pack and Corona Proxy causing load times to skyrocket, and no plan to fix the "getRenderMesh" issue; are you guys planning to add more features to Corona Scatter?

Very very nice :)

Care to elaborate about light ?

Hdri or sun+sky?

Thanks

Thanks Correntes, I used a HDRI, a Corona Sun and also light portals.
The lightmix should outline the amount of lights that went into the scene.

VILLA IN MONTERIGGIONI

G'day folks, just wanted to share with you what i've made during my free time.
After 2 years making the same things over and over again at the office, I decided to set apart some time to make something that I liked to keep my sanity.
This is the 2nd project that I've done since that time. (1st: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=18832.0)

Software: 3ds Max | Corona Renderer | Photoshop
Based on an article featured in Archdaily
