Sorry guys, I got pulled away for other projects. Those are reference images, which I assume are real photos. A testament to how good artists can make things look that even WE can't always tell. The single tire is from a tire store so I assume it's real. The second is probably real as well, but not 100% sure. It's the look of the sidewall that I like.
Since most of the images I would render are new cars, it is common to have the sidewalls to be cleaned with a product that leaves them a little glossy. Here is what I ended up with. It looks decent, but not as perfect as I'd like. This material started with a purchased material, but then I replaced the sidewall graphic and reduced all the scratches and bumps.
I was tasked with taking this video of a woman talking about used cars and adding an older model 3D car. The reflection of the woman is not a true 3D reflection. They gave me a second camera shot from the side so I could add the reflection, but the camera was not in focus at all. I just did a simple mask and tried to blend it in using After Effects. Since people will usually focus on the person speaking, I think I can get away with it. Plus the reflection video was not edited exactly to match the woman. Close, but a little off.
