Yes I did try that, and it didn't fix the issue. I'm quite confident that the normal map is saved with wrong gamma. Test my described solution out, and you'll see it for yourself.

@rowmanns & maru - the problems with the normal map in "Concrete Plates Dirty" is still present in v6.

I did some testing, and found that the problem seems to be, that the normalmap is saved with wrong gamma. If I put the bitmap loader through a Corona Collorcorrect map with gamma set to 0,45, before plugging it into the Corona Normal map, everything works as expected.

So this should be an easy fix ;)

Hi. I think the new "Clamp" tiling mode in v6 CoronaBitmap is what you are looking for.
So instead of choosing "No Tiling" choose "Clamp".

Hope it helps

Thanks. The gamma is correct now, but I think theres something wrong with the normalmap. It gives some shading artifacts (terminator problems?), and when turned down (0,3), there's almost no bump effect. Doesn't look right to me.

Is this intended?

Hi. Not a Threadripper expert, but I think the NH-U12S is too weak, and that you should take the NH-U14 instead.
Other than that it looks OK to me - but as I said, I'm not an expert :)

Good luck with the build.

Hi. Already posted this on the daily builds thread, but think this is the right place.

When using the new "Concrete Plates Dirty" I get the "normal map using incorrect gamma" warning. It also looks like there is some serious terminator problems with correct gamma on this material.

Otherwise there are some great new materials.

Thanks :)

Hi. Just installed RC3 and the updated materiallibrary.

Tried out the new materials, and when using "Concrete Plates Dirty" I got the "normal map using incorrect gamma" warning. It also looks like there is some serious terminator problems - maybe caused by to strong bump settings?

Besides that I had a hard time downloading the material file on my poor network. Had to do it twice, with several "failed network" instances. Any chance of improving this?

Thanks :)

Hi. No expert on this, so this might be a stupid question:
What's wrong with using the "Input LUT is in Log color space" checkbox together with an ACES LUT (i.e. "Filmic Very High Contrast")? Picture attached.

Hi. Just wanna say that I'm experiencing extreme lag with the Corona Material Library as well. I'm using max 2020, Corona 6 RC2, a RTX 2060 Super, and windows 10 Pro.

It's not something new. Had this with all Corona versions that include the material library, several versions of 3ds Max (2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020) and on 3 different PC's with different graphic cards.

Hope this will get fixed :)

Hi. Just installed RC2, and got this:

Removing previous installation of IES bundle... done
Installing IES bundle... Failed to install file C:\Program Files\Corona\ies\Real-IES_bold.ies: Cannot open/read/write file 'C:/Program Files/Corona/ies/Real-IES_bold.ies'
Operation result: failed

How can I fix this?

@Maru - in one of the cases you're linking, the solution was to use the exact motherboard OP has. So I doubt it's the motherboard. Unless it's faulty.

Might be enough, but check the CPU temps.

Check your Enermax cooler. It's known to fail after some time. Replace it with a Noctua air cooler.

0 = off
0,001 means full color at 0,001mm

If you sphere is 180mm thick, then you need to go above that to get some transparency in the middle. Try starting at 300mm and then see how it works.
