Lister doesn't seem to detect Corona Light Materials that are inside of Multi-Sub Materials
Hi,

Thanks for reporting, it's a known issue and should be fixed in v11.

Hi,

Just informing you that unfortunately, we cannot do anything about this. We don't have any control over what data is saved into the exr, therefore when loaded into the CIE the default TM pipeline will be applied.

As stated above, we would advise using CXRs in this situation.

Cheers,

Rowan

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Re: VFB Slowdown

Hi,

That is strange, we tried this in our office with a range of systems and GPUs (including 1050ti and 650ti) and we cannot reproduce this at all.

I will ask someone from our support team to get back in contact with you and see how we can investigate this further.

Thanks,

Rowan

Hi,

Either should be fine. Only if you have problems with one, you can try the other.

Thanks,

Rowan

Didn't know that Scatter for Corona was different than Scatter for V-Ray. I recently started to use V-Ray GPU and noted that it already has "Edge Trimming" as a simple checkbox. Wasn't Scatter a Corona tool initially? How is it that V-Ray team managed to implement this option faster than Corona? This has been requested many times here.
Hi,

this is coming for Corona, too. However some work is needed on the renderer's side to implement this as a simple checkbox and the V-Ray team was a bit quicker than us ;)

I hope this clears things up.

Can you add a list renaming feature?
Hi,

How would this work for instances? You can already rename objects in the lister with a double click.

Thanks

Hey,

I've been looking into this. Could you try installing the latest Nvidia drivers and see if that helps: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Please also run windows update and install any missing updates :)

If it doesn't help, I will continue to investigate this.

Cheers!

When volume effect is enabled inside of CoronaSky, clouds are being cut with straight line. Is that considered as bug ? I dont think its a feature, looks very unnatural.
Volume effect and clouds are currently not supported together.

We have it logged, but don't have any ETA on when it might be fixed.

Thanks,

Rowan

Good day guys, I think corona RC3 is having issues reding licenses for nodes in backburner and DR, have made test with 4 scenes, 3 simple and one complex, same result, also AMD threadripper performance has drop considerably, in some cases my 3090x is giving me bigger times than my 3970x and even more crazy, an i9 9900k gave me similar results as the 3090x, also test in RC2 and got same results, Also constant drops and DR but in backburner the RC2 was reading the licenses fine,  ill try to upload more info but Im in a deadline right now

That's pretty concerning. The team does have Threadripper guy (Neic), but he's on Cinema4D). There definitely should be more testing done on big platforms given their peculiarities. Every once in a while, either due to Corona, or Windows/Corona something the performance on big Threadrippers (32+, mostly the 64-core) dives to 50perc.
Hi,

We do indeed test on these platforms. So far in our tests, we did not experience anything like this.
If possible @VASLAVO can you send over a scene and we can investigate?

Thanks,

Rowan

Hi,

After some deeper discussion with the devs. It appears it is really not possible to improve this behaviour.

It can either be like this, with the lazy loading which causes the flickering. Or lock up 3ds max until all of the proxies in your scene are loaded for that frame. Depending on the number of proxies this could be several seconds.

I hope you understand our reasoning behind this.
