hi guys i need an opinion: i have now 2990wx but i see that its time its coming to an end sadly and i need to configure a new machine.

I am torn between AMD 7950x, i9 13900k and i9 14900K. they are close i guess but if you have any opinion on them or other suggestions let me know.

maybe i didn't explain well but this happens while moving in an empty viewport or isolating a simple box, i have to wait like 30 sec to isolate and un isolate a simple geometry

The 3dmax is using a lot of power while doing very simple tasks, any idea how to fix that ?

Hi guys i encounter this problem a lot when a i have strange dark reflection on the objects and usually they are with sharp edges. i guess the model is clean as attached in the picture.

Any guess why or how to fix it? thanks !

hi guys i am having some problems with the new converter and the physical materials:

1- it converts some random materials in the scene to physical metallic material which was already corona material [ bed sheets for example]

2- i cant convert this physical material to any other engine material vray, fstorm etc.. it just becomes black

did anyone experience the same and have you found a solution ?

Hardware / i7 11800h vs i9 11900h

Hi guys,

I am buying Alienware x15 and I am torn between buying the i9 11900h or i7 11800h. knowing that it will be with RTX 3070 and 32 GB ram. I am just afraid of the thermals and to have the same scenario of the previous generation where the i7 was performing better than the i9.

Any idea guys about the new generation, I need advice.

hahaha I can totally relate to this, the aesthetics make a lot of difference for me that's why my heart was with the razer but it cannot work.

What do you think about the Alienware R5 with the AMD 5900HX, 32 GB ram, and RTX 3070?

It's 15 inches quite light but I read that the cooling was not the best and in terms of performance was one of the lowest machines that have this AMD chip. 

EDIT: oh I saw now they have the model with i7 11800H and the i9 11900H which is strangely cheaper what do you think about these models? i am quite worried about the ventilation of the i( since it goes crazy hot.

Another option ASUS strix G17

which will have AMD 5900 hx

With 3070 VGA and 32 GB DDR4 3200 rams

Which has an advantage on the razer in terms of the specs but will be heavier and uglier.

It's around 2000 euros and it's very portable. i really like how the razer is.

I dunno if I can get any better within this price range.


I have my workstation home so this will be for the workflow, creating, testing the scenes, and being more mobile.

and I had Alienware area 51m i9 9900k and it's horrible, overpriced, very very heavy, and horrible ventilation.
